...that there are no threads yet on Poldark? grin

merlotgran Thu 01-Sept-16 17:19:34

Ooooh! I'm sure there will be, Lara.

I've just finished reading the book that covers Ross's trial. So long ago since I first read it I needed a reminder of what happens and then I'll enjoy concentrating on his phwoarrrrness the important stuff.

Can't wait!

LaraGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 01-Sept-16 17:30:38

Whew. We thought perhaps everyone had lost interest but it's good to know you're merely doing some pre-Poldark swotting. Till Sunday then...

Ana Thu 01-Sept-16 17:30:56

The new series hasn't started yet, Lara - give us a chance! grin

Pittcity Thu 01-Sept-16 17:32:57

Sending DH out to work a night shift so that I can give the TV my full attention ? on Sunday.

Charleygirl Thu 01-Sept-16 17:44:15

Am I the only one who will not be watching it? I did not like it the first time round so I will not be watching it this time, sorry, Lara. I prefer Dragons Den.

ninathenana Thu 01-Sept-16 17:48:00

Loved the original but wasn't fussed about the last series. It's something I'll watch if nothing else is on.

numberplease Thu 01-Sept-16 18:05:14

I`ll definitely tune in for my Aiden Turner fix!

KatyK Thu 01-Sept-16 18:21:22

I'll be watching!

kittylester Thu 01-Sept-16 18:23:29

We are saving our energy! Did anyone see him on Breakfast? Good job I was still in bed or I'd have had to go for a lie down!!

NonnaW Thu 01-Sept-16 18:33:09

Never watched it, won't this time either

Auntieflo Thu 01-Sept-16 18:35:30

Same as Charleygirl

M0nica Thu 01-Sept-16 19:57:14

Another 'Charley' here.

M0nica Thu 01-Sept-16 19:58:21

Don't like Dragon's Den either. I will probably be knitting or sewing.

Iam64 Thu 01-Sept-16 20:11:51

I didn't watch either but I'm loving Lord M in Victoria.

merlotgran Thu 01-Sept-16 21:22:39

Thank goodness for ITV+1. I'll be able to watch Poldark then Lord M.

Haven't told DH the glad tidings yet.

Deedaa Thu 01-Sept-16 21:33:05

Loved the original series but I thought the new one was very disappointing. Apart from Ross and Demelza all the characters seemed to be interchangeable, and the new ones aren't a patch on Robin Ellis and Angharad. Don't think I'll bother with it anymore.

Ana Thu 01-Sept-16 21:53:20

I agree about Angharad Rees, she was wonderful in the part. But what on earth did we all see in Robin Ellis? confused

merlotgran Thu 01-Sept-16 21:55:32

I don't know, Ana but whatever it was I definitely saw it! grin

Ana Thu 01-Sept-16 22:00:46

grin

DanniRae Thu 01-Sept-16 22:14:52

I didn't watch it first time round and not watching this version. Not my type of thing - but if it's yours I hope you enjoy itwink.

Nana3 Thu 01-Sept-16 22:43:56

I will definitely be watching, I love Sunday evening drama, Sheer escapism.

Maggiemaybe Thu 01-Sept-16 22:58:00

I can't wait! I was living abroad when the first adaptation aired so missed it, but I loved the books and loved the first series of this one. Roll on Sunday (and I'll be watching Victoria afterwards as well). Perfect.

Deedaa Thu 01-Sept-16 23:25:59

I was living in Cornwall when the first series was on. one Sunday evening - it was the week after we finished with the cliff hanger of Ross hiding from the soldiers- we had a thunder storm and all the power went off.Disaster! On Monday morning the mobile library came to the village. We all gathered there complaining about missing Poldark and it turned out that the librarian had been able to watch it! So instead of choosing books we got her to recount the entire episode.

Nelliemoser Thu 01-Sept-16 23:46:23

It does not appeal to me in the slightest. I don't like these swashing and buckling period dramas at all whoever is in it.
That's another Charleygirl here.
