We at HQ are very perplexed...

...that there are no threads yet on Poldark? grin

I read on a site about running an online forum once, that the HQ lot should pop up now and again.

They (HQ) like to join in the chat sometimes. They are being encouraging. (hmm)

Nothing so exciting as returning under a different name Jamila. I'm a relatively new member and enjoying being part of the group.

It was just that it seemed as though GNHQ expected us to be enthusiastic about the return of a series I have never wanted to watch. Just a throw away comment really. Think I had too much time on my hands yesterday afternoon grin

The original Poldark series was proper adventure with a bit of humour thrown in. This one seems to be all loud music and people gazing into the distance hmm

Watched the first adaptation, was it 30 or 40 years ago? Read all of Winston Graham's books. That was a lifetime ago, not interested in this series at all. Aidan Turner seems to have a nice body, shame about the face. Why all the fuss? Looks like it will be the New Year before there may be something on worth watching, good job I have loads of books to catch up with. (Don't do ITV, all adverts and there is something not right about their productions).

or have you been banned before and have come back under a pseudonym? [intriguednow]

Ana Sat 03-Sept-16 20:18:08

Goodness, I think it takes a bit lot more than not liking a certain tv programme to get banned from GN! grin

Jalima Sat 03-Sept-16 20:16:18

Wobblybits grin

why should you be banned shandi - are you on the norty step?

Grannynise Sat 03-Sept-16 20:06:18

Have never watched it, and, like Charleygirl, don't intend to start.

Wobblybits Sat 03-Sept-16 19:26:06

"smouldering looks, and sweaty bodies" sounds like our kitchen.

Penstemmon Sat 03-Sept-16 19:07:03

I think I saw some of the original Poldark but did not watch the last series and won't be watching this time either!

shandi6570 Sat 03-Sept-16 18:30:11

So glad that I'm not banned from Gransnet because I haven't planned on including Poldark in my TV viewing. Not my cup of tea, along with many of you it seems.

DanniRae Sat 03-Sept-16 17:29:15

Just caught up with first episode of Victoria and must say I found Lord M very appealing (not a patch on Colin Firth as Mr Darcy mind you). Can't wait to watch episode 2, I've got a feeling he's going to grow on me, as is the whole program. And I didn't even want to watch it till my daughter said it was very enjoyable...........smile

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 03-Sept-16 10:12:32

It was only Wales! (So beautiful though. Sigh!)

Ana Sat 03-Sept-16 10:05:25

Not Roo! Too.

Ana Sat 03-Sept-16 10:04:42

Roo much time gallivanting about, jingl! smile

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 03-Sept-16 10:03:35

I seem to be watching less and less tv these days. Not sure why. When I do it's usually a series on I player, watched back to back. I never really know what's on current tv, or when. It's all very confusing.

Gagagran Sat 03-Sept-16 09:55:21

Another Lord M fan here. I shan't be watching Poldark or Dragons Den but definitely Victoria. (and Strictly results how when it starts)

Elegran Sat 03-Sept-16 09:44:24

Well, jings, going by past salivation quite a lot of us are.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 03-Sept-16 09:26:01

Did GNHQ really think we'd all be gagging with uncontainable excitement? hmm

Pollengran Fri 02-Sept-16 21:20:44

Love Aiden Turner. I am happy to give updates on smouldering looks, and sweaty bodies. I will definately be tuning in to Poldark blush

BlueBelle Fri 02-Sept-16 20:14:34

Not watched it

rosesarered Fri 02-Sept-16 15:01:36

I didn't like it the first time round, so won't be watching this time either.

Alishka Fri 02-Sept-16 12:32:39

swashing and buckling gringrin spot on! And has bodice-ripping, bosom-heaving been added to the mix yet? grin
I'll never know. ..

Now, dragons den, I like. How many children have you seen with their own little wheelie carry-ons at airports? I think that was a gem the dragons missed? And there are others, but I think that the programme is a good platform for new ideas, even if the dragons don't think so someone does and runs with it. smile

harrigran Fri 02-Sept-16 12:11:51

What is Poldark ?
