The one where she's supposed to be teaching dance moves in an old people's home. hmm

I think it's funny! The old people seem to be enjoying it anyway grin

Ana Mon 06-Jun-16 21:17:33

(And she's the one who looks stupid, not them...)

I think it's a great ad and I like the music ??

Coolgran65 Mon 06-Jun-16 22:04:43

It really irritates me.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 06-Jun-16 22:41:59

There's another one at the moment. Not on the telly. On those glass panels by bus stops. An old lady with a post-it note on her forehead. I don't know what it's advertising. Why us an old person? It's ageist.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 06-Jun-16 22:42:37

use. Not 'us'.

merlotgran Mon 06-Jun-16 22:44:33

What's a bus stop? grin

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 06-Jun-16 23:20:41

Well, we've got some round 'ere. I whistle past 'em on me bike. That's why I don't know what it's advertising.

You're sexy and you know it....grin wish I could do those moves.

They are funny! Especially the one with the farmer shearing the sheepdog!

I've worn glasses for what seems forever, so the ads don't worry me. Of course, one's eyes like everything else wear out the older one gets, so it stands to reason they target the older people who probably buy two or three different pairs for different jobs as well.

They're no worse than the dating ads where a young cool guy ends up sitting next to a tortoise as his date on the sofa. It just gets the message across.

I love that add. She reminds me of a lovely woman I taught with. No names!!!!

DanniRae Tue 07-Jun-16 23:23:22

I really enjoy watching that ad. It never fails to make me smile.

Actually it`s making fun of the younger woman teaching the exercises, she`s the one needing Specsavers.

I really like that ad. one just has to smile. I think all the specsavers ads are clever.

FarNorth Fri 10-Jun-16 14:38:25

jbf could you slow down a bit, please, and find out what that ad is about?
It may be a positive one, not "using" the old person in a bad way.
Anyway, it's giving an older actor/model a job, isn't it.

Ana Fri 10-Jun-16 14:55:16

confused

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 10-Jun-16 15:02:23

Slow down? confused. Why? You having trouble keeping up?

It's a group of old people actually. (You sure you're looking at the right ad?)

I usually like the Specsavers ads. Not this one though.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 10-Jun-16 15:09:07

it's this one

I don't like it. But I've no doubt the mainstream of the present day Gransnetters will find it hilarious. smile

FarNorth Fri 10-Jun-16 15:18:56

Slow down as you whistle past the bus stop.

It's the younger woman who's made to look silly in the TV ad. I've no problem with it but you do. Fair enough.

Tegan Fri 10-Jun-16 15:23:00

I agree about the Specsavers ad. I love all of the other ones [especially the shepherd one] but can't bear to watch the one with the old people. I think it is mocking them.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 10-Jun-16 15:26:37

Oh right! On my bike! grin I get it now. I'm going to walk up the road to look at the post-it note advert. See what it's about.

Elrel Fri 10-Jun-16 20:26:13

Love the sheepdog one, a favourite ad!

Tegan Fri 10-Jun-16 20:48:51

You know an ad is good when you always stop to watch it when it's on and still chuckle at the end. I used to like the Volkswagen ones and, at the moment like the Ikea t shirts one. I don't know how people think them up.

LullyDully Fri 10-Jun-16 20:59:38

It is the younger woman I find amusing as she is dancing her self I to a frenzy in her own little world.. The older people are enjoying the dancing and seem to prefer it to the expected bingo.

Sorry must be a mainstream, present day gransnetter....not sure I understand that crack however. hmm
