No one has the right to such blue eyes. He is divine! A good article and photos in the Saturday Guardian this morning.

NanKate Sat 23-Apr-16 10:10:29

He is pretty scrumptious Whitewave. grin

New series starts in May.

KatyK Sat 23-Apr-16 10:35:14

Ooo I must find that.

whitewave Sat 23-Apr-16 10:37:28

You can't miss it! Full page photo of that divine chap. He's 40 this year, decided to act with more decorum now. Studied law but took up acting.

Marelli Sat 23-Apr-16 11:32:48

Isn't he gorgeous! Must catch up on all the previous episodes on Netflix before new series starts. smile

changeznameza Sat 23-Apr-16 11:57:50

I've avoided it because I was worried it would be too violent. I am squeamish! But based on this thread maybe I'll give it a try!

whitewave Sat 23-Apr-16 12:00:39

Watch it from series 1 it is addictive.

Marelli Sat 23-Apr-16 12:55:15

How many series were there, whitewave? We're just starting to watch Series 2.

whitewave Sat 23-Apr-16 13:10:07

Is this series 3 coming up? Not sure.

Marelli Sat 23-Apr-16 13:14:54

It is, whitewave. Jut googled it. Must get caught up with 2!

KatyK Sat 23-Apr-16 14:42:12

I noticed a cafe in Birmingham City Centre last week called Peaky Blinders and popped my head in but no he wasn't there sad grin

PRINTMISS Sat 23-Apr-16 16:05:24

It is I think a savage programme, and I am not really into that sort of thing, but I do enjoy it. I think my dad was very much on the edge of gambling groups, and was probably often scared of the outcome of some of his "losses", but he was a good dad, and I am sure I often benefited from some of his more devious ways. He was the black sheep of the family, so very little is known of his activities.

Last nights episode!!!!!!! Thought the music was brilliant. So good

merlotgran Fri 20-May-16 21:44:57

For a moment I thought Tommy was going to hand his little boy over to the gipsy woman to bring up out of harm's way - along with a huge wedge of cash of course!

It's very violent and I sometimes find it hard to keep up with who's who but can't stop watching.

Agree about the music last night.

PRINTMISS Sat 21-May-16 08:30:52

Unfortunately, I have completely lost the plot on this one, not like me at all, and I am going to give up on it, because I do not like the language and I do think it is unnecessarily brutal. Not really my kind of viewing after all, and I did so enjoy the first part.

Marelli Sat 21-May-16 08:39:34

I love it (although I do have my hands up over my eyes a lot)! The music's very good, and I do like the way the men walk......has anyone noticed that? Something about that, isn't there.... wink

Tegan Sat 21-May-16 15:53:32

I've lost the plot too, but I'll stick with it as my family came from Peaky Blinders territory (my cousin still lives round the corner from The Garrison). As a child I used to play at Black Patch Park where the gypsies had lived. I'm sure it's why I love horse racing so much (and love a flutter from time to time).I am going to watch it with subtitles next week, though, as I haven't got a clue what they're saying.

I loved the first two series of this but it's got overly complicated now and I'm finding the story line completely implorsable. I wish they had stopped at series two or I'd stopped watchin. I'm so dissapointed. Perhaps I'm getting old but the I find the language and sex gratuitous just there to titalate and draw the attention away from a woeful storylin. Yep I sound old and grumpy don't I wink

merlotgran Thu 02-Jun-16 21:59:06

I've given up. sad

whitewave Thu 02-Jun-16 22:02:24

I think it is utterly brilliant.

whitewave Thu 02-Jun-16 22:08:29

I shall probably be in a minority of one though?

gettingonabit Thu 02-Jun-16 22:21:56

I've given up too. I just can't understand what's going onblush.

cazthebookworm Thu 02-Jun-16 23:48:00

Love it......I think Tommy is mesmerising and plays the part brilliantly

grannyactivist Fri 03-Jun-16 00:36:19

It's one of a few programmes where I think it would lack verisimilitude without the sex and violence (The Wire was another such)- especially as it has its roots in real life. I found it interesting enough to google the real life Peaky Blinders.

Versailles, on the other hand, seems to be a vehicle simply for ill acted 'porn-lite'. Rubbish and only fit for the off button.

Marelli Fri 03-Jun-16 05:16:30

I love it! There are certainly lots of different threads to it, now bringing in the sexual abuse of Pol's son by the priest who also ordered Tommy's severe beating.
There IS lots of (gratuitous) sex, but this seems to be relevant to the story. The Jewish jeweller plays a great part, too.
There were a couple of funny bits last night, too - especially when Tommy said to the rather bitter-faced maid that the drugs he was taking made him dream about her, and that he didn't want to tell her or think about the outcome of the dream...grin!
