Helen has a friend. Hooray!!!

I have an image of Helen banged up with a lot of 'commmon' people endearing herself to them as the posh bird who is a right laugh like Bridget Jones.

Things could be looking up.

At least she's got someone to talk to. Someone who seems to have been there, done that, got the tee shirt so may be able to get Helen less introverted and more rooted in reality.

It would be wonderful if a new "well 'ard" Helen began to emerge. I would also love, even pay good money, to see how her new buddy would deal with Rob <dreams>

Helen has problems but she is - or was until Rob got at her - a basically strong women. Rob will always know how to press her buttons but just having a friend could help her find her way back to herself.

I just hope Helen doesn't get upset and say "I stabbed him, I tried to kill him" - not useful.

Or had done to them by their partners Eirel. I live in hope that Eliza Doolittle, Helen's new friend in the mother and baby unit, will continue to chat away and share some of her own experiences. This could be the prompt Helen needs. Currently, I suspect she is ashamed that she was conned (or mugged as Eliza would express it) by Rob. Shame compounded by being the only woman she knows who chose such a wrongun, then stabbed him after finally losing the plot.

Hope it doesn't go like that TV series Orange is the New Black - which is about a middle class woman in prison - they all seem to end up having lesbian love affairs.

That's the thing about prison suzied - for men and for women. I suspect that the high number of women in prison who have experienced some form of abuse in childhood or adult life, often from men, increases the likelihood. The Archers has had a number of gay men, Ian and Adam are regular characters but so far as I recall, never had a lesbian cast member.

Now that would be a development!! (Helen as a lesbian, I mean) one in the eye for Rob who thinks he is God's gift.

Especially as he has already suggested that Helen and Kirsty have a lesbian relationship.

The September deadline for the trial is also the start of the academic year. I think it's likely that Henry will be packed off to boarding school after all.

Rob has already commented to the police about her relationship with Kirsty.

I agree with you Iam, the thoughts that she is not the only one and a few down to earth comments from her new friend might well help. Anything that gives her strength because the trial will not be fun for her - they will bring up everything they can.

I hope I am not saying too much but looking at Mumnet spoilers thread we seem to be in for more of Rob's machinations.

I am glad that "our" Ambridge will stay the same but, in the real world, I have seen villages cut off, losing busses etc., because bypasses have gone elsewhere.

Now he hasn't got Helen , he must be controlling and bullying Ursula.

Good ol Bert! On the Helen front things are definitely looking up. She seems to be bonding with Jack and has warmed to ? Cas, who will support her. . We needed some positive vibes to get through the weekend!

I thought Eddie would jump at the + 50% offer since they are so hard up. Shows Bert's character that he rounded up the Fairbrethren and just got on with fencing off the Am. Perhaps Lynda will learn from that, she's moaned so much about Bert's garden.

Very Bert I thought. If anyone could get something out of Helen it should be Tom - he grew up with her and brothers learn to handle their sisters :-) It was a good question to ask - a the very least Helen will think about it.

It was a good question and Tom must have noticed how she avoided further discussion on Rob being in her head, her fear of the court hearing because Rob will be there, even though she will be appearing on video link.
