The drama not the Islands ? Don't tell me they've replaced it with football? I have looked forward to this all week yes I know I have a dull life.

I found that too much happened too quickly in the last episode, I am still not sure who did what and why, and the major criminal gets away with arranging a hanging (touches of Rebus stories here).

Thought it was brilliant!

starbird Sat 05-Mar-16 10:42:07

I hear they are about to repeat series 1 on the Drama Channel Wednesdays 8pm.

Pay attention Jane there's some twists and turns smile

Jane10 Sat 05-Mar-16 09:41:53

Have recorded it to watch as a treat tonight. I've really enjoyed it so far.

Greyduster Sat 05-Mar-16 09:33:27

I'll miss it also. I've downloaded two of the books onto my kindle so I won't get withdrawal symptoms!

Really enjoyed it will miss worth the wait for the final episode

Luckygirl Sat 05-Mar-16 09:00:47

Yes - there is some excellent acting. I am never sure that I have a full grasp of the plot (both in life and on Shetland!) but it is very enjoyable.

I did enjoy it and was really surprised. It's always what is not seen and said which is so dramatic.

Great series, lovely surprise ending, and the scenery! Really good television.

Alea Fri 04-Mar-16 23:29:56

Well, I didn't see that coming!!
Great series despite crass scheduling, who on earth takes a week off, not once, but twice when scheduling a tense thriller? confused
great acting and beautiful scenery , even in Glasgpw -(ducks for cover from the Weejuns!!)

The acting was brilliant, especially Alison O'Donnell, the actress playing Tosh. Poor Rhona, she's in for a big let down. The final episode is looking like a cracker.

Auntieflo Tue 23-Feb-16 09:33:19

We thought that the acting was so good. 'Tosh' especially. Mind you, they all gave great performances, very moving.

I love it. I thought the actress playing "Tosh" gave an excellent performance very restrained but so emotional. And Archi Panjabi has that look so that you suspect she is hiding something. Wish they wouldn't muck about with the time though.

I left it to record on Friday when I was out at the theatre, but when I came back, it hadn't recorded, though other programmes had. I'm hoping to get it on i-Player.

POGS Sun 21-Feb-16 18:38:42

Well I did have it taped after all and just watched it.. Midlands region.

Won 't spoil it for those who couldn't see it but I thought it was good , well worth making sure you keep up with the story line..

I thought last nights episode about the rape was very sad, well done though.

Stansgran Sat 20-Feb-16 16:25:38

Just watched it on I player. Need a cup of tea and a cake now.

We had Shetland last night but it is off next week for Wales v France (Rugby). Very annoyed they have mucked this drama about, why could they not have stuck it on BBC2?
The crazy thing is the rugby match is about an hour and a half long , but the actual rugby programme is on for nearly two hours. Why?
The BBC are needing to get their act together. Ridiculous the way this and Dickensian are mucked about.
The whole schedule should not come to a halt because of rugby and football!

nigglynellie Sat 20-Feb-16 10:47:17

I think you'll find it's rugby, but I could be wrong!!!! It's SO annoying when this happens. Everything has to give way to blasted sport. By the time the finale finally comes I for one will have lost the thread. Why can't one of the other BBC channels have their programmes disrupted, or better still take it in turns?!!

Thingmajig Sat 20-Feb-16 10:40:29

We had Shetland last night (my lips are sealed!) but won't have it next week ... no idea what's next week unless it's football?

Esspee Fri 19-Feb-16 23:40:36

It must have been a regional variation as we greatly enjoyed tonight's episode. Won't spoil it for you but don't miss it.

POGS Fri 19-Feb-16 23:39:16

I thought we had taped it. angry. I would have cussed hubby for taping the wrong program. grin

Eloethan Fri 19-Feb-16 23:27:30

I didn't hear that there was going to be another 2-week wait. I'm really fed up with the way that sport takes precedence over everything.

I'm not bored with Shetland at all. I think it's a really good story and fabulous acting.

starbird Fri 19-Feb-16 23:26:03

I'm not getting bored with it, I love it and like the fact that a lot of the characters are developed and have their own story. I love Archi Panjabi as Aisha, I always thought her character more interesting in 'The Good Wife' than the main figures (gone off that series in the last year, the main characters are so smug ).

I've decided to start reading the Shetland books, having been told that the tv series is a good representation of them - I've read most of the 'Vera' books which are by the same author (Ann Cleves), and she too is portrayed well in the tv series, (also on tv at the moment)by Brenda Blethyn, but I find I fall asleep during them sometimes as they can be slow and are on for two hours, as each episode is a complete story.
