Feel good films

Dirty Dancing,never fails to have me singing along merrily.

Some Like It Hot - a classic in my opinion.

Love the dance scenes in any Fred Astaire film although the films are now so dated.

Yes, Sunshine on Leith is the film version of the stage jukebox musical of the Proclaimers music.

James Stewart - for me then Harvy

alima, Proclaimers songs used but sung by the cast, I think.

Love Actually is my favourite feel good film, with Mama Mia if I want a bit of sunshine.

Oooh! Sunshine on Leith! Another one for my list.

I hoped there would be a national tour of the musical after the film was released. I can still hope.

I don't know what this says about me BUT I've never been able to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" - I start and find it so boring - I know, I know, I should be ashamed of myself but there, I've said it!!

Is that the one The Proclaimers are in thatbags? Much prefer British films these days. Starting with the Rocky Films where I couldn't understand a word he said I have completely gone off American films.

Sunshine in Leith.

Some Like it Hot, Local Hero, Muriel's Wedding, Love Actually. And Christmas wouldn't be quite complete without It's a Wonderful Life.

It's such a LONG film isn't it. We decided to watch it one Christmas[never having seen it before]; started quite late in the evening and it seemed to go on forever. Since then we have been to see it at the cinema which was wonderful; everyone clapped at the end. I love Jimmy Stewart in How the West Was Won even though he was, by then too old for the character he portrayed. As a bit of a misery [and that's an understatement]feel good films, for me are sad ones....I too love The Cider House Rules. And a sweet little film called 'The Last Christmas' which I have on video. If I want to actually cheer myself up Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or most Muppet films have me in stitches.

It's a Wonderful Life. That dance scene near the end Brilliant. There again, anything with Jimmy Stewart.

I went completely the other way the other day. First I watched: Still Alice, absolute heartbreaker about early onset Altzhiemers, then, in case I hadn't cried enough I went straight into: Cider House Rules. I felt like a rung out dish cloth.

Any Doris Day film especially where she sings The Deadwood Stage, was it Calamity Jane?
