I suppose the fact that Jay and Aliona had never been in the dance-off should have shown us the way the wind was blowing.

anno I am not sure because some nights he did deserve the high marks but tonight, in my opinion he came 3rd as the judges marked him. I thought that Kellie should have won it- second would have been Georgia.

I'd have had Georgia first, Kellie next and Jay a long way behind.

I was shocked! I would have been hard pushed to choose between Georgia and Kellie, but definitely not Jay!

I used to be so with it and now I am definitely without it.

Well I'm sitting behind the sofa typing this I thought Jay was a very worthy winner. The girls have it far easier than the boys and they are just way too gushy for my liking.

Thought Ellie Goulding sang badly.
would not have chosen Jay, thought Georgia was the best.
I have had more than enough Strictly now, won't be watching any more.

We watched Jay`s showdance, and we all said that it was nothing like a showdance should be. Georgia`s was a little better, nice, but not brilliant, then Kellie and Kevin danced their showdance, and we said "Now THAT`S a showdance!" Feeling very disappointed at the result, after the judges remarks, I was so sure that Kellie had it in the bag.

I think Jay and Aliona thought they'd blown it. They were completely outdanced by the other two couples. Georgia and Giovanni were my winners, with Kellie and Kevin close behind. I liked Kellie's show dance best, although I loved the story of Georgia and Giovanni's. But the best dance of the night was Georgia and Giovanni's Charleston. Simply wonderful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jay was polling more votes every week than all the other celebs added together.

It was a good final, but went very flat when Jay won. Lovely guy.

No point getting involved next year if there's some random boy band member in it. Desperately disappointed.

It's hard to take when the other finalists are obviously better on the night.

Aliona won with Harry Judd, another boy band member in 2011. Like Jay he was never in the bottom two (there was no dance off that year), so it's likely he had the benefit of a huge fan base coming into the series.

Room for a third?!? Can't overlook the fact that Jay is an exceptionally good dancer. Don't know how much his 'fan base' would affect the vote as the band haven't worked together for almost 2 years.

I think the words "the dancer you most want to win" were used right at the beginning of the show, so not necessarily the best dancer, but the one YOU want to win, and Jay must have this really big following which probably made him favourite from the start. I must say I enjoyed his gracefulness, but all finalists were good (except perhaps Anton and Katie who were a lovely couple, but I think Anton is not as young as the other dancers, and prefers the old routines which he does really well, and he got the votes because people appreciated his good humour).

I said to OH , that all the Jay fans were voting from their phones at the pub , I would have voted for Georgia if she had stopped crying , Kellie was sensational

All in all, I loved the final,but it felt a bit flat when the result was announced. Poor Jay was quite overcome and I love it when the guys lift the winner up on their shoulders! It was lovely to see Georgia and Jay having a huge hug. Honestly, I don't think any of the finalists begrudge Jay and Aliona their win. On the red button coverage it was clear they'd all had a ball last night and were on a real high. I wish I'd been at the wrap party!

It probably feels very weird this morning, now it's all over.

I voted for Georgia and Kellie in the first part of the show (4 and 2 votes respectively), but after the break all 6 of my votes went to Georgia. Although I voted online for free, I think I would have picked up the phone and paid to vote last night.

Voted for the first time ever, it is so easy online. I thought Kellie should win as they were the best on the night and Georgia next best. Am I the only one who thinks Jay is not a very graceful dancer? (Probably should not have asked that).

Yes I voted for Georgia and Kellie (well, Kevin really!) There's something about Kellie that I'm not sure about.

Well we both enjoyed it - and couldn't have decided between the three- all excellent in their own ways. We could make a case for all 3- and weren't disappointed when Jay won. As Anno says, he was never in the dance off.

I thought Kellie and Kevin were the best dancers, although I think Jay was also excellent; but for the winner I would have chosen Georgia simply because she has not had the benefit of previous extensive dance training, unlike the other two, and had therefore demonstrated a quite amazing progression.

Wasn't Georgia at stage school, though? Surely she'd have had dance training as part of the course?

I was disappointed that Kellie and Kevin didn't win.
