Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity to be announced - will he be the first one off?

Charleygirl Mon 09-Nov-15 09:59:17

I agree with what you say, WKf. I was shocked to see Kellie in the dance off last night but much as I like Carole, it was time for her to go and next week it should be Jeremy. I would like Georgia to win- she is a bit of a dark horse but she is young and turning out to be a very good dancer. I do not like Jay at all although he is a good dancer- his face is totally expressionless.

Lona Mon 09-Nov-15 10:42:45

I was amazed at Craig's remarks when Carol was picked for the dance off. He obviously really liked her, but I've never seen him gush like that before.
I love Helen (apart from her hair!) If she just loosened her hips a bit more I think she could win. Apparently, she has done ballet training which shows in her fabulous legs.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 09-Nov-15 11:51:58

It was nice to see Craig letting his judge face drop to say those lovely things to Carol. He's apparently a really nice guy and gets on great with Len, despite what we see on the show.

Helen was a Junior Associate at Birmingham Royal Ballet until she was 15. It's a tough programme to get on, so she must have been really good. I know it wasn’t a Rumba on Saturday, but she was fabulous all the same. She can sing too and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (she was one of Elton John's backing singers). A very talented lady.

Rosesarered, I`m not too old to appreciate Gleb, just too old to act on it!!

You can learn a lot on this thread ... thanks WilmaK

Anita gets my vote every time. I vote on line and sometimes vote for the same dancer twice or even three times. I had high hopes that Anton would succeed at last, but don't think Katie is versatile enough to cope with all the different techniques whereas Anita seems to be infintely adaptable.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 12-Nov-15 16:13:53

Happy4me you're welcome. smile

Craig's getting a lot of flak this week for an article in the Radio Times giving his opinion on each celeb and their chances of winning. Many people don't think it's right he is sharing his opinions when he's a judge.

I vote online so get three free votes and my DH has a BBC account so I use it to get three more votes! grin Until last weekend I'd been spreading my votes around the couples I liked each week, but last weekend my votes went to Georgia & Giovanni and Jeremy & Karen.

Apart from Halloween week, I have quite enjoying the series so far.

Glad Jeremy has gone he was by far the worst left.

rosesarered Sun 15-Nov-15 20:19:53

Same here Number but am willing to give it a go!

Jeremy had to go, thought the Going Underground number was unintentially hilarious. Only the good dancers left now, but Jamelia likely to go next week.

Teetime Sun 15-Nov-15 20:21:53

I agree but I really like watching Jamelia but she cant hold out much longer. Don't understand the fascination with Blackpool at all.

rosesarered Sun 15-Nov-15 20:29:17

The lights! The ballroom! The Tower! the gigantic organ that pops up from the floor!( sounds a bit Benny Hill) The rock, the pier!

Nana3 Sun 15-Nov-15 20:32:45

It's the ballroom Teetime, you have to have danced on that floor to know the magic of it. It springs with every movement no matter how delicate.

merlotgran Sun 15-Nov-15 20:33:10

Jeremy had to go but I'll miss having a good laugh.

I think Jamelia will be the next to go unless Katie and Anton have a bad day at the office. They're a bit unpredictable.

I wish they'd get rid of that new singer. He's terrible!

Jomarie Sun 15-Nov-15 20:41:24

Am so relieved that JV has gone - I find him insufferable - just not my kind of guy at all. As for Blackpool, I think it was originally a ploy to keep the audience's interest in the early days and to intimidate the celebs (fat chance) but now it's just boring ...... As for Gleb well, if only grin

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 15-Nov-15 21:21:24

Aw I really like Jeremy and gave him 2 of my votes last night in the hope he would get to Blackpool. would much rather it was Jeremy going than Jamelia, who will likely be voted off next week. She's such an ungainly dancer. sad

Jamelia has now equalled the record for being in the dance off, so when she gets voted off, she'll be the new record holder. Then we'll be down to the serious dancers who will have their eye on the final.

My winners are still Georgia & Giovanni, who were simply stunning last night. One of the reasons Georgia did the show was that she wanted to dance the Charleston and it was certainly her dance! Luckily they had everything going for them as far as music, costumes, hair and makeup, etc., and it was so great to see Giovanni no outdancing Georgia. He really knows how to dance at a level that shows off his partner. Some pros never manage to do this. Kevin is the best example of a pro always outdancing his celeb, in fact, he outdances the other pros in the pro dances too. He's so enthusiastic he just can't help himself!

numberplease Sun 15-Nov-15 23:31:28

I love to watch Kevin dancing, whether with Kellie, or the professionals, but for some reason, his and Kellie`s routine didn`t do it for me last night, although the judges seemed to like it. And no matter how good Jay is, I just can`t take to him. Anita has done brilliantly for someone who, if I`m not mistaken, was a complete novice at dancing. I`m not a great lover of Katie, but hope she does well so I can see more of the lovely Anton.

gillybob Mon 16-Nov-15 12:41:39

Glad Jeremy went last night although I guess the whole thing is a popularity competition and not really a dance competition at all. I will miss his smile though.

Jamelia should go next week. I would like to see either Peter or Jay win. I don't think trained dancers should take part as surely the whole thing is supposed to be teaching someone to dance, who couldn't dance before.

Charleygirl Mon 16-Nov-15 13:58:17

numberplease I feel the same way as you do about Jay, I also cannot take to him no matter how well he dances. He has such an expressionless face when he is dancing, as the judges keep commenting.

I agree, I think that it will be goodbye to Jamelia this week and possibly Katie the week after although I love watching Anton and his antics.

The way things are going I also think that Georgia and Giovanni may win the competition with maybe Peter or even Anita as runner up.

Anya Mon 16-Nov-15 15:25:01

Not a Jay fan either - I just don't buy his surprised little act when complimented on his dancing. Come on, does he think we were born yesterday?

Ana Mon 16-Nov-15 15:28:32

Agree about Jay. Can't warm to him at all...hmm

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 16-Nov-15 15:40:40

I like Jay well enough, but I would never vote for someone with the amount of training he's had. I much prefer celebs with little or no dance training. Experience I don't mind, training is different.

Anniebach Mon 16-Nov-15 15:43:50

I will miss Jeremy and am sorry he didn't make Blackpool. Jay is too old for his little shy boy expression. Still don't like Andre, think Georgia may win, I like Katie and love Anton. Think Helen is doing well, Anita is very good too

Jamelia is going to put a foot through the floor if she stamps a fraction more, so yes I hope she is next to leave

Alima Mon 16-Nov-15 15:51:12

Will miss Jeremy, he tried so hard and improved over the weeks. The others were all fairly good to begin with except maybe Jamelia. The singers are awful now. Would it be improved if they danced to records?

numberplease Mon 16-Nov-15 16:01:49

Records would be better, but they`re trying to reproduce the old ballroom style, with an orchestra and singers, so doubt if that will change.
Gillybob, you say that trained dancers shouldn`t take part, yet you`d like Jay to win. He did 6 years dance training at 2 separate dance academies.

Charleygirl Mon 16-Nov-15 20:45:55

I do not think that Jay should have taken part because of his extensive dance training.
