I am not keen on Katie Price tbh. I agree she's a good business woman, but she certainly does not keep her children out of the public eye, especially her disabled son Harvey. She regularly uploads photos of her children to Instagram which then appear elsewhere and in fact, was slammed last week by many of her own fans after uploading photos of two of her daughters wearing hats with real fur. She's always maintained she's against animal cruelty, so it was a bit of an own goal for her. She got into a slanging match on social media, which didn't do her any favours either.
When he was younger, she did keep Harvey out of the public eye, but now she's happy to be photographed with him at charity events which is good for raising the profile of the charities, but is also great PR for her. In the last few years she's given lots of interviews with him, mainly about how she worries about Harvey's future. I don't doubt for one minute she is worried, but again it's great PR.
When she had her own fly on the wall TV series with Peter Andre, I watched an episode and couldn't believe her behaviour. Yes, she was playing to the camera, but I thought she was dreadful. Peter came over as a bit of a wimp who couldn't stand up to her, but it was probably more that he couldn't cope with her. I can honestly say that I don't know of any British celebrity who is a bigger publicity seeker. She's a hard working woman who knows how to work the media for her benefit - including using her children if necessary. I don't think that necessarily means she's a bad mother, but it does make her a good business woman.
That said, Peter works the media too and is snapped all the time with his new wife Emily (she's a recently qualified doctor) and his children (from his marriage to Katie and his new baby with Emily). I find these photos less sleazy, but he's essentially doing the same thing as Katie - keeping himself in the public eye.
Sorry to go on so long.
