I only picked up on the concert about half way through. Initially I was not expecting to be impressed by Chris Evans but I found his attitude more respectful than I had anticipated. The singing and dancing along with the reading of letters provided just the right mixture of celebration and sadness. During the war, as a small child, I had been aware of the stress the adults were under - never knowing if we were to be blown to bits or suffer an invasion. The certainty that we were to be free of these worries was palpable even to a four-year-old.
