I have a weakness for Holby. I'm a bit sheepish though and scared to admit it! I know its not very realistic -which hospital can everyone find a parking space right at the front door. Also am v surprised that there's seemingly an onsite bar. Oh well I'm still hooked!

harrigran Wed 11-Feb-15 17:56:16

I watch it but take a lot of it with a pinch of salt.

annodomini Wed 11-Feb-15 18:44:43

I still watch it with more than a pinch of salt. If I have an anaesthetic, I wake up throwing up - no Holby patient does that! And they come round remarkably compos mentis.

I love Holby (and I think jings does too!)

Unfortunately, since DD came to live here, I have been unable to watch it and last time I looked there were 11 to catch up on. Can anyone please give me an update because, unless I break a leg or some such, I'm destined never to catch up. grin

Oh no*kitty *! What a shame. Too much going on for a rapid summary. Keep saving the episodes and have a lost weekend?!

rosequartz Wed 11-Feb-15 19:23:53

Please will you Holby fans take Connie back.

She is so mixed up, nasty and she is spoiling Casualty.

Lona Wed 11-Feb-15 19:41:20

I love Holby too, and it's nearly as wacky as Broadchurch!
Any old bod can just pop into the operating theatres, nurses and doctors just wander off when they feel like it, and babies and dogs are always welcome to wait somewhere unsuitable!
As for Connie, well I think she would be a good sparring partner for Jac.
Bring it on! grin

I like Holby too and I agree rosequartz the Connie story annoying. I missed half of last nights as my granddaughter came over to cut my hair , so did MC get the man?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Feb-15 19:52:12

Yes I love it! I like Connie. She is a great character. I can't remember what last night's episode was about , except for whotisname's pregnant daughter. So I don't know if MC got the man. Or who MC is.

Falconbird Wed 11-Feb-15 19:55:20

I love Holby. The surgeons are all so up themselves and it's all so intense and the patients all completely off the wall. It never comes up for awards for the best soap, which I think is a shame, because it's always interesting, sad and often funny.

Ana Wed 11-Feb-15 19:56:50

I think Connie's awful, wafting about with her nose in the air all the time and being scathing to anyone who crosses her path! Have you noticed how her face never moves when she's talking...? hmm

I don't know who MC is either! Or what man confused

tanith Wed 11-Feb-15 20:02:03

Oh well never mind.. confused

Jane10 Wed 11-Feb-15 20:03:14

Marie Claire?

tanith Wed 11-Feb-15 20:13:29

Thats the one Jane10.. Fletch and Harry often calls her MC.. I must be the only one that noticed.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Feb-15 20:18:18

As far as I can remember, she is playing it cool. And he is falling for her. But it is unspoken.

When I say I "like" Connie, I mean she is a good character. I would not want her as a bessie mate.

I might go and watch it again. Nothing else on.

Ana Wed 11-Feb-15 20:38:56

Oh yes, Marie Claire - she is playing it cool, even mentioning a couple of dates she's had (don't know whether that's true or not) and he's definitely getting more interested. Don't know what she sees in him, TBH grin

ninathenana Wed 11-Feb-15 22:23:48

Rachael lost the baby last night. She ran cycled off to meet the father not knowing she was in heart failure. Sacha of course got to her just in time.
MC and Harry are fizzing, I don't think the other man exists.
Main story last night was about triplet brothers who had been in an RTA.
Mo's mum aunt gave her a box of photos etc. that had belonged to her biological mum.

ninathenana Wed 11-Feb-15 22:26:59

Ana Harry is a useless human being but not a bad bit of eye candy IMHO grin

Eloethan Wed 11-Feb-15 22:27:20

I watch Holby but I think it has become exceptionally silly of late. I'm well aware that it's not to be taken seriously and hospitals aren't really as they are portrayed on the TV - but there are limits.

PRINTMISS Thu 12-Feb-15 08:24:50

I agree with your Eloethan but having said that we still watch it regularly! It is really interesting(?) to see how quickly people recover from major heart surgery, what a lovely world to live in, just hope some folks do not believe in it all!

tanith Thu 12-Feb-15 09:12:09

Thanks Ninathenana and Ana for bringing me up to speed , I think Harry is a twat she could do much better, having said that I couldn't bear MC when she first arrived but she's grown on me..

Lona Thu 12-Feb-15 09:32:39

Marie Claire was not very nice when she first appeared but now they've turned her into a caring, compassionate nurse.
Much better than that dizzy blonde (caked in make up) ! Can't even remember her name now.

annodomini Thu 12-Feb-15 09:33:31

Don't you think the script-writers are trying to brush up Harry's image and make him a more caring human being? Being an absentee father seems to have mellowed him. Watch this space!

Lona Thu 12-Feb-15 09:33:31

Was it "Chantelle"?

Lona Thu 12-Feb-15 09:36:11

Do you remember Michael Kitchen playing a consultant in Casualty/Holby? <sigh>
