I have watched Easties since it started in a mindless sort of way. However I was absolutely drawn in by last nights episode. I've never been left so shattered by a TV programme before. Cabin fever? Good writing? Good acting? No idea why!!

I thought it was great! Had a bit of everything in it. smile

Dd3 and I are watching it again tonight before the next one! We love it even if it's mindless rubbish!

Oops - it was that good!

Oh good. Its not just me then! It may have reverted to average tonight. Hope not!

Did you notice the bit at the start when everyone as they were walking about, was using their mobiles wink? Who was contacting who (ok - pedant alert!) about Lucy?!!
I do hope the policewoman's knowledge won't 'die' if she does. Might need to watch it again, too. Lots of red herrings -shall we take virtual bets on the perpetrator?
I think it was Denise - that's one of the reasons she's drinking so much (apart from the old chap's illness).

kittylester Fri 02-Jan-15 11:19:05

I think it might be Denise too (or she's a red herring). Or Ben. I hope it's not Jay or Lee! blush. There were fewer people with phones when Emma was talking to someone!

Done it again!!

What about Jane? She gave Lauren an alibi for the video clip of her near the house. The clue is obviously some thing to do with the scene of the square.
However, whoever it was was not at the wedding because they met Emma in the park. Don't really know yet. x

Jane10 Fri 02-Jan-15 11:44:26

Why was Emma so distressed about finding who it was? Is it Max? She didn't half give him short shrift when he tried to stop her going to the Police. She did have a head injury at that point but was upset long before she was knocked down. I reckon the producers will draw it out ++. Oh well. Something to look forward to after we return to normal next week1

Is it just me bored with the whole Lucy thing now ??

granjura Fri 02-Jan-15 11:56:37

So the cop will die of a skull fracture before she tells all? Or will she be 'pushed' by guilty Max?

Mindless rubbish and the only soap I watch, lol.

whitewave Fri 02-Jan-15 13:46:46

Daftest ending I have ever seen!

kittylester Fri 02-Jan-15 14:17:57

I think the reveal is mid Feb at Ian and Jane's wedding! Wonder how long her contract at Waterloo road is - it could be her! shock

glassortwo Fri 02-Jan-15 14:33:20

I knocked my full glass of wine off the table and smashed it as my phone received a text as Emma sent hers. .. Wasnt me honest!!!!!!! grin

I gave up EE some years ago after watching years of totally improbably plots and situations. I eventually just thought why am I wasting my time watching this crap. Right now I have no idea what is going on.

Every so often when I was watching Eastenders it would come up with some good story lines and the odd, excellent twohander acting scenes.

I will stick with the Archers which, although it has some more improbable story lines, does generally keep a level of reality about its scripts.

Always watch East Enders, no idea why, still think perhaps Peter is in line for the murderer - he wasn't at the wedding, and we did not see him get a text - murky waters there. Ben and Jay are obviously involved in some way, but I think a bit to obvious.

granjura Fri 02-Jan-15 15:21:56

Mid-Feb??? Surely they can't expect us to keep interested until then- a huge mistake.

Shall we open a 'book' on who done it?

Don't know why, but I think it is Max's younger daughter, and he is protecting her- all the others are too obvious.

I have a fancy for the undertaker but have no real reason just a hunch... Peter was in the cafe with his phone on the table in front of him in fact almost everybody was shown phone in hand as they panned around the square and cafe..

Pittcity Fri 02-Jan-15 16:42:36

I was more perplexed by the unlikely hospital scenes. Did anyone stitch Ronnie up after the C section? How come the family kept coming in and out of the room? I expect she will be well enough to go home by Monday even though she flatlined for 10 minutes!

I also noticed that Emma said, "It's Emma... " to whoever she phoned. So they knew her well enough to use her first name but not well enough to have her as a phone contact. hmm

The reveal will be in a live episode and the actors will not know until they get the script!

It was just like the Michelle Fowler pregnancy situation, she rang the father, and several men were shown receiving phone calls. The Lucy saga is scheduled to end in February. "Who shot Phil Mitchell?" ran for several months, despite folk getting bored with it, but I must admit to absolutely loving EastEnders.

Learnt more reading this thread than trying to interpret the last episode!
