Last ever presentation of Newsnight by Jeremy Paxman tonight - the end of an era. I'll miss him, can't imagine anyone who could really replace him.

I can't either, Ana sad

Life won't be the same without a late night dose of Paxo. I hope he'll still be making some of his documentary series, I particularly enjoyed his one about The Victorians.
At least we'll still have University Challenge - I love his air of More in Sorrow than in Anger when they come out with something particularly puerile smile

Yes, he could be a rude, domineering interviewer, but we need people like that. Let's hope they find a good replacement.

Although he's perhaps not been at his best this last few months, on top form he is unbeatable. What I like about Paxo is that he asks the questions that the viewers would like to pose. I don't envy the presenter who has to Follow That.

I'll miss his sardonic comments at the end of programmes.

John Snow interviewed him on channel 4 news last night. John made a quip about Paxo being an interviewer on channel 4. Paxo didn't say, never!

I can't imagine ever wanting to watch Newsnight again without Jeremy there.
All the other presenters are worthy, but boring.

I'm liking the fact that Evan Davis from the Today programme has got the job. I think he will be very different from Jeremy Paxman. Interesting. smile

PM on with him tonight.

he's such a lovely man

I am not that concerned with who presents Newsnight but am more concerned with the content. I used to find it worth stopping up for but recently it has bored me to tears. Items are not so varied as they used to be and are concenrating overly on politics. I would like to see other contentious and current issues discussed.
