I kept thinking of Dogtanion for some reason confused.

It was only fair really, I watched the Midwives and OH kept his eyes shut. Then he watched The Musketeers and I kept my eyes shut. I do remember watching something similar with less gore and sex when I was a child.

Worth watching just for the outfits... I've been a sucker for those floaty blouses and tight trousers since Michael York et al.
At one point teenagers and I covered each other's eyes in case the naughtiness went too far, but it didn't, and we all thought it was quite enjoyable. Definitely one to wind down with at the end of the weekend.

Nice bit of arm candy, but otherwise not for me.

DH watched and enjoyed, DS thought 3 year old son who wants to be D'Artagnon, would enjoy it, but not at 9.00pm on a Sunday night. I sat the other end of the room and read.

I think GrandmaH has just identified another reason that I wasn't keen, casting to appeal to the laydeees! Usual mix, brash one, sensitive one, etc etc.

10 out of 10 for eye candy!! D'Artagnan in leather trousers- say no more.
Nice balance of humour & action. I'll watch it again & DH liked it too.
Prefer Sherlock but good Sunday night viewing- not too heavy.
Not sure how they will explain no Richelieu in next series if they make one now he in Dr. Who.

So 3-2 in favour of Musketeers so far, which isn't too bad. I much preferred it to Sherlock which I didn't like. I got the impression that Monsieur 'Hanging-by-the-fingertips' had jumped into the arms of his mates who just happened to come round the corner, or perhaps it was a couple of humble peasants. I thought Peter Capaldi's nasty, mean, devious representation of Richelieu was brilliant, and I wonder which of the Musketeers will be the dominant one. Hope the rest of the series is as good.

I was looking forward to it but gave up part way through.

Anne58 Mon 20-Jan-14 11:50:42

Actually, I thought I was going to like it but didn't. Very heavy on the background music for one thing. Might give it one more try next week.

I did too! Loved the costumes...OH said it reminded him of a western and I can see what he means. Something to look forward to next Sunday.

Enjoyed it immensely. But how did Whatshisface get down when he was hanging over a thirty foot drop by his finger nails?

I sat up late to watch the first episode and rather enjoyed it. Anybody agree?
