Is it me? Or are there some male TV presenters who are exceedingly easy on the eye these days? I am thinking of Simon Reeve (Pilgrimage) Michael Scott (Greeks) Brian Cox (who looks much too young to be an eminent scientist), even Paxo - depending on your taste) among others.
I know my Mum used to like "that nice Michael Aspel" but are there more good looking "nice young men" - or is it me? wink

Neil Oliver does it for me...smile

Soutra Sun 12-Jan-14 13:30:22

Ooh yes! He can make the most ordinary sentence sound passionate!! (Maybe I do need to get out more) grin

annodomini Sun 12-Jan-14 14:28:09

My very, very favourite is Monty Halls. He was on Channel 5 (I think) recently doing an underwater programme. I hope he comes back (with Reuben) to do more programmes like the ones in the Hebrides, the Western Highlands and Ireland.

Oo yes, Brian Cox and Neil Oliver I agree. Have you seen Jessie Pavelka? He's rather young, about 30 I think but he's lovely. He has been advertising something he's going to be doing on Daybreak soon (he's a diet and fitness expert). Even the female presenters on ITV have been going all unnecessary when they run the advert. smile

Enviousamerican Sun 12-Jan-14 15:32:52

Just finished googling all those dishy men! grin except Paxo got me stuffing mix! confused

newist Sun 12-Jan-14 15:32:55

Brian Cox, does it for me, If he is not smiling, what a beautiful smile, his eyes twinkle, just like the stars, wink

I've liked Simon Reeve for quite a while [can't remember the first series he did, though]. Used to like Benedict Allen [not sure what he's up to these days]. Don't really like Neil Oliver; thought I'd love the recent series he made [may still be on] but it didn't grip me enough to carry on watching. I was gripped by the series about shipwrecks recently and the guy who made it is in that Grand Canyon series thats on tonight [not one of the young pretty presenters but the 'slightly older but with short, greying hair and not a bit of fat on him' type that I find rather attractive these days blush].

Also Francesco Da Mosto who did a couple of series about his home city, Venice. Not so much the way he looks, but he has a lovely way with him. I love Venice so that may have something to do with it. I have to admit that I queued up when he did a book signing in town blush. Enviousamerican - I love that you got stuffing mix when you googled Paxo grin

Soutra Sun 12-Jan-14 16:44:20

Oh swoon! Francesco da Mosta - NOT a conventionally good looking man, in fact I think he looks a bit like an Italian painting of a Borgiaor a Medici! But what an attractive man!

KatyK Sun 12-Jan-14 16:47:01

Soutra - yes I agree. I met him at the book signing and I am ashamed to say I was going to say how much I enjoyed his programmes but I just gawped at him as he signed my book! blush

Stansgran Sun 12-Jan-14 17:05:05

Brodie from Homeland was alive and well in York yesterday.smile

glammanana Sun 12-Jan-14 17:48:11

Wow Stansgran he would certainly hold my attention.grin always liked him in all the films/programmes he has done.

annodomini Sun 12-Jan-14 19:02:48

Wow! Monty Halls is on Celebrity Mastermind now!

Agus Sun 12-Jan-14 19:23:41

I was just about to let you know anno. Big wow!

Deedaa Sun 12-Jan-14 21:22:47

Oh KatyK I'm so jealous. I loved all his programmes. Television seems very short of cultured people sometimes.
I don't mind Neil Oliver, but DH always turns him off as he can't stand his accent. No problems with Francesco's lovely seductive accent! And I've had a soft spot for Paxo for a long time smile

KatyK Mon 13-Jan-14 11:38:28

Well Deedaa I am a bit long in the tooth for queuing up to see famous people but on this occasion I couldn't help myself! I was working at the time and asked my boss if I could have an extended lunch hour to go to see Francesco. She said OK and lots of people were asking me who he was as they had never heard of him. I showed them his pic on the computer and lots of the young folks were saying 'he's a bit old isn't he' (cheek). I think it was a topic of much amusement in the office that a soon to be 60 year old would queue to meet someone! Did I care? Not a bit grin I joined the queue and there was Francesco sitting at a table, a bottle of red wine at his side, looking gorgeous (to me anyway).

annodomini Mon 13-Jan-14 12:41:12

I've been in love with Francesco since his very first appearance! I started a Facebook group - Francesco da Mosto Fan Club - but it has only two members of whom I am one! sad

KatyK Mon 13-Jan-14 12:50:33

Anno - That's lovely. I would join but I don't like Facebook.

Judthepud2 Mon 13-Jan-14 16:39:30

Francesco da Mosta was very much my (mature) glass of wine. So Italian with his seductive accent and cute giggle. And he has a Venetian palace too!! Bought his first book as I love Venice. He didn't unfortunately make it as far as N. Ireland to sign it or I would have been in the queue.

But of the young presenters, Brian Cox and Simon Reeve do it for me. Very attractive young men and easy on the eye. Oh and I enjoyed their programmes as well ...... when I could concentrate. wink

Tegan Mon 13-Jan-14 16:50:23

Simon Reeves programme about Cuba was brilliant; I missed the one about tea last night [the S.O. says it was very good]. Brian Cox is quite a bit older than he looks I think [just going to google him].

KatyK Mon 13-Jan-14 17:48:29

Brian Cox was in a 'pop' group in the '90s D'ream - Things Can Only Get Better - but then you probably already know that smile

Tegan Mon 13-Jan-14 18:47:02

He's in his mid forties shock.

Tegan Mon 13-Jan-14 18:48:17

He always reminds me of the pretty one from Blur and the pretty one from Radiohead.
