Has anybody been watching this? I think it's really good.

Ana Sun 08-Sept-13 20:06:31

Yes - an excellent drama! I'm really enjoying it.

Me too . Just going to have a bath and then settle down to watch this evening's episode.

Grannyknot Sun 08-Sept-13 20:45:25

Husband and I are also watching this and waiting for tonight's episode to start.

No, I'm going with Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy on C4. All tucked up in bed with the winter dooner and a glass of milk wink

I couldn't get into it at all, just a lot of random people wandering about in the dark confused

Ana Sun 08-Sept-13 22:33:47

Can't wait for the last episode next week! The only wrong note, to me, is the pairing of the lovely pregnant girl with that oaf of a boyfriend...hmm

Gorki Sun 08-Sept-13 23:11:56

PS Went to sleep in the bath and missed the first half. Now I am totally confused. confused

It clashes with Vera which DH and I love.

I was watching Vera last night but got the plot confused with a book I had been reading! Too many detective stories, I think, so have started on The Cazalets.

I really wanted to enjoy TTSSpy, but it was so slow and no dialogue for ages, so I was flicking channels, and ended up not knowing who was spying, murdering, or in Big Brother!

I watched the first episode of 'What Remains', but I couldn't cope with Shameless Frank G without his long hair.

We are watching this, and thoroughly enjoying it, although the other half gets confused with the flash-backs. We record Vera, so that we can fast-forward the adverts! We like this too, lovely scenery.

Gave up on TTSS. Not enough dialogue; shame, as I love the whole spy genre. So who was the mole.
And on the subject of the OP. the dark scenes are really getting on my nerves. The classic one was last week when the retired detective was hammering nails into the floorboards. Who does that !!!

Ana Mon 09-Sept-13 10:32:09

Not sure what you mean, Petra. He was covering up the hole - how else would he do it? confused

Eloethan Mon 09-Sept-13 11:03:48

I sat down to watch TTSS on DVD and couldn't make head nor tail of it. I mentioned this to my son who looked at me witheringly and said he had had no problem at all in following it.

I do remember Alec Guinness and, I think, Beryl Reid in the TV series of TTSS and I think the slow, weekly episodes made it much easier to keep up with what was going on (well, for me anyway).

I love Brenda Blethyn and her protrayal of Vera, but I also record it so as to skip the frequent adverts breaks.

Looking forward to the final episode, but I was looking forward to conclusion of The Fall and they left us hanging. Hopefully the same thing will not happen here.Ana, I too wondered why that lovely girl was living with such a nasty piece of work.

Lona Mon 09-Sept-13 15:09:57

petra and Eloethan, Re TTSS, I think after watching 'Spooks' where everything happens so quickly, it felt as though George Smiley needed a bomb up his jaxi to me!

petra Mon 09-Sept-13 16:39:55

Ana. I see that I didn't explain myself clearly. I referred to the dark scenes: he was hammering the nails in, in the dark. Does that make sense ?

Ana Mon 09-Sept-13 16:50:09

Oh I see! You mean without a torch or anything? I'm afraid I didn't notice, but yes, I agree it would be daft!

Penstemmon Mon 09-Sept-13 17:46:54

I am going along with What Remains. However in the first episode the odd girl in the downstairs flat went up to Melissa's flat and went in with a key the odder teacher had hanging up. BUT because the door was bashed in by boyf with sticky out ears so he could stop the leak a new lock was fitted! How did odd girl get new keys?
Glad I do not live in that set of flats..only the poor pregnant girl (who I agree does not'go' with her partner) and the girlfriend of the chap on the ground floor are vaguely normal..everyone else is decidedly strange! shock

Grannyeggs Mon 09-Sept-13 18:02:53

I am not even sure of the normality of the Girl in the downstairs flat. It's all very creepy, but I am enjoying it but have no clue how it will end, and like atqui I hope they don't leave us all in the lurch and without a definite ending. confused
