I was so shocked that Abbey was in the dance off. She has been a real surprise. She has danced beautifully, and she seems a lovely girl, with an occasional refreshing hint of naivety
I hope she goes far. smile
Rachel worked hard and was better this week, but although bright and beautiful she didn't seem to be really enjoying herself on the dance floor.
I think, IMHO, I agree with gracesmum's predictions.

I'm probably the only person who was not impressed by Ben's bared body. All his body-contact with the judges, over the weeks, makes me slightly uncomfortable. It seems a bit unfair that Ashley was banned from showing his chest--and I prefer his!! grin

gracesmum Sun 03-Nov-13 22:16:07

I too feel sorry for Hairy Biker Dave - he did look very embarrassed and it isnt his fault that the GBP (Great British Public) have kept him in the competition even if the dance-off was a travesty. Abby is a lovely dancer, capable of going all the way to the Final, but I don't think Rachel would have lasted many more weeks as it is - she doesnt have a great sense of rhythm. Dave, Fiona and Mark to go next IMHO - and in that order!

Charleygirl Sun 03-Nov-13 21:00:02

i wonder if it would be fairer for the studio audience alone to vote and foget about the rest of us. I suppose that money will be lost because millions would not be ringing to vote for their favourite.

It was a travesty that Abby and Rachel were in the dance off. Dave did look embarrassed but it is not his fault that he is still there, it is the morons who vote for him.

BAnanas Sun 03-Nov-13 20:14:15

Can't believe Abby was in the Dance Off and such a shame for Rachel to go this week and she had improved a lot.

Oldgreymare Sun 03-Nov-13 20:01:37

A travesty! Blooming Dave stays!!!!!

merlotgran Sun 03-Nov-13 19:56:50

Oh FGS. The voting is a nonsense. angry

As soon as a really good dancer is put in the dance off you know it's going to be curtains for the other one. They might just as well not bother and how the heck is Dave still in this??

Glad Susanna got through smile

Grandmanorm Sun 03-Nov-13 19:52:08

What a nonsense that Dave is still in. I find it amazing just how rubbish the public vote is.

BAnanas Sun 03-Nov-13 17:01:18

DAVE MUST GO!

Charleygirl Sun 03-Nov-13 16:35:34

With any luck Dave will go tonight but he does appear to have a large following who blindly vote for him.

I never could stand the sight of Bruce and his ghastly jokes. At least we do not see him on Sundays.

rosesarered Sun 03-Nov-13 16:13:27

I enjoy Strictly [can't dance myself.] However Bruce F. is putting me off the show as are the pouting antics of Bruno everytime a male chest comes into view.Gets more Kenny Everett show every week.
Yes, it's high time hairy biker Dave was voted off, tonight maybe?

Deedaa Sun 03-Nov-13 00:00:31

Where does Susanna get the energy? I couldn't done it when I was her age (And definitely not now!!!)

GrandmaMiney Sat 02-Nov-13 22:43:48

I have only just learned the reason for Kitty's sad face.
I apologise for my very lighthearted remark.
I do hope and pray that all turns out to be well.

GrandmaMiney Sat 02-Nov-13 21:08:55

Well kittylester given your previous comments, I hope you did watch tonight. You would certainly have had a good view of quite a lot of Ben...
I rather wish he didn't 'tease' Bruno and Craig.... he's hugged all of the judges now, I think--except Len. I don't think a woman would get away with it.
Wonder why that is? thlhmm

I thought Ashley had been told not to expose his chest any more, seems a bit unfair as I rather prefer his chest!

Oldgreymare Sat 02-Nov-13 20:26:48

Thankyou Susannah, such a lovely positive young woman.
sunshine and flowers

kittylester Sat 02-Nov-13 17:31:10

I wonder if any of us really have the heart for Strictly tonight? I'll definitely watch but probably without much enthusiasm sad

GrandmaMiney Sat 02-Nov-13 16:53:01

Promises to be a scary night tonight, moon the Hallowe'en show--and believe me, I'm scared.
It gets scarier every week in case it's the week when the bubble bursts.
If in doubt, please vote with the number ending 03 (only jesting--not!)
smile wine wine

annodomini Mon 28-Oct-13 18:14:21

It isn't the first time that this kind of thing has happened and it won't be the last. Perhaps after this debacle, viewers will see sense and stop voting for Dave and Rachel.

ginny Mon 28-Oct-13 17:07:14

If I were Dave or Rachel, I would be so embarrassed to be still there. I'm sure there was a lot more the judges would have liked to say.

Oldgreymare Mon 28-Oct-13 10:21:17

What a shambles!
I simply cannot believe that Deborah has gone and Dave is still there. I am irritated by his 'gormless' act, his inane chatter and his bad timing! I don't think that much of his cooking either, he looks far too scruffy, if he were on a production line his hair would be in a net!!!

PRINTMISS Mon 28-Oct-13 09:50:13

It was an unfair dance-off, and even Rachel was amazed to be still in the competition - her 'Countdown' admirers? Dave obviously has a fantastic following (quite rightly so for his cooking), so presumably this is how they managed to get through. I like Patrick, he deserved to get through, having just recovered from a broken wrist, I know how difficult it is to keep balanced, so he did do well - and he NEVER stops smiling.

dorsetpennt Mon 28-Oct-13 08:56:57

I think they vote for their favourite character on TV or who has been seen the most recently on TV. I think the older women contestants who aren't glamorous like Fiona Fullerton or disliked like Vanessa Feltz, are kicked out early on as well. No matter how good their dancing is and how hard they have worked.

gillybob Mon 28-Oct-13 08:22:03

Yes Deedaa the public do seem to vote strangely. I think there are two sets of voters. Those who take it quite seriously and vote for the best dancer and those who vote for their favourite celebrity no matter how poor a dancer they are.

MrsSB Mon 28-Oct-13 08:16:15

When is the British public going to get over this obsession with voting for the funny guy? Just because Dave is dressed up to look silly, and tries, it doesn't make him the best dancer. It is supposed to be a dance competition, not a competition to see who makes us laugh!

There's no way Deborah was the worst dancer, but unfortunately the British public can be perverse at times. Let's hope that sense and fairness prevails eventually.

Hunt Sun 27-Oct-13 23:30:03

Deborah has progressed so far in such a short time. She's a great lady but I think she also felt it was a bit unfair to say the least. They should neither have been in the dance off. Patrick is the only man who is really on the beat at every step. He couldn't dance off the beat if he tried.

Deedaa Sun 27-Oct-13 22:58:18

A lot of people do seem to vote for their favourite celebrity no matter how badly they've performed
With my daughter having been a gymnast I was very keen for Beth Tweddle to do well in Dancing on Ice. But I didn't vote for her in the final because, quite honestly, her performance wasn't the best. Obviously a lot of people did vote for her because she was Beth Tweddle.
I am sorry to see Deborah go because, as I have said before, she was such a good example of going out, trying something new, and having a good time.
