Hmmmmmm as usual my initial response is what an odd lot. Fern Britten is a bit of fun but can't say I'm wildly enthusiastic yet. I still think Kara and Artem were the best ever.

Perhaps I should explain that years spent in bands in various ballrooms and other venues have left me with a loathing for social terpsichore!

Notsogrand Wed 24-Oct-12 17:08:23

If you loathe it feetle, maybe you need to steer clear of a thread about Strictly Come Terpsichoring? smile

Can't take to Louis at the moment, he seems rather remote. Perhaps he will grow on me. Now Nicky is much more my cup of tea!!! What with SCD on Saturday and Downton on Sunday I am in 7th heaven.

Is this the most boring Strictly we've ever had?
I just can't seem to be bothered about any of them really.

merlotgran Sat 27-Oct-12 22:27:08

I wish they'd return to the more traditional format of the earlier series. I don't want to see a tango danced in a Hallowe'en costume. I wouldn't recognise half the dances if we weren't told what they were supposed to be. confused

NannaAnna Sun 28-Oct-12 00:52:17

I'm not that bothered about most of the slebs, I just want to see Brendan every week! Don't know why, but I love him! For that reason I want Victoria Pembleton to stay in the show. More, more, more Brendan please grin

Actually, I thought James looked rather dishy as a 'silver fox' tonight! Promises of aging well I thought wink

Nonu Sun 28-Oct-12 17:21:49

When is Bruce Forsyth going to call it a day ? He is sooo old hat , and boring now ! [hallowen]

Frankel Sun 28-Oct-12 17:40:22

annodomini: I bow to your wisdom in Strictly matters. Michael Vaughan was indeed a surprise!

In view of my total lack of knowledge, I probably shouldn't say so but I still think Miss Pendleton gets overmarked by the judges.

Ella46 Sun 28-Oct-12 17:46:04

I'm afraid she comes over as a bit of a wuss! grin

merlotgran Sun 28-Oct-12 17:46:47

They'll need a mop and bucket when she finally gets voted out.

annodomini Sun 28-Oct-12 18:11:15

I think some of these themes are a mistake. Halloween was just plain silly at times, though I did like the Hollywood night - more demanding because the dancing mattered more than the costumes.

celebgran Sun 28-Oct-12 18:24:55

I have not seen this due to hol only flashed through first one, I like Jerry Hall due to seeing her in Graduate live in London few years ago, but not sure about her dancing she is very conceited I feel??!! maybe wrong.

Lisa Reilly seems to be doing well not sure if OH is still recording it for me, have had few mutters about me not watching stuff and memory getting used up!!

Found it way too boring live last year and seems from your comments ladies nothings change, agree Nonu Brucie was good in his day but sadly that was long ago.

annodomini Sun 28-Oct-12 18:49:05

Sorry, celebgran, they got rid of Jerry Hall last week. No, I'm not sorry - she was boring. Glad to see Nicky Byrne getting into his stride. He will get votes for just being Nicky, so it's good that he can actually dance. Agreeable lad, though!

glitabo Sun 28-Oct-12 18:50:34

I recorded Strictly and then watched it later but I used fast forward on Brucie's nonsense and most of the training bits. It was OK, but I think it has gone off the boil a bit this year. Mind you, I could force myself to watch Colin Salmon if I had to.

annodomini Sun 28-Oct-12 18:57:13

Echo that, glitabo grin

numberplease Sun 28-Oct-12 20:34:53

Oh, but I LOVE Brucie, have done for donkeys years. My only complaint about the show, which I love, is that they very rarely have latin music for latin dances, they don`t ring true because of that.

Ella46 Sun 28-Oct-12 20:40:35

I really think that it needs a shake up before the next series. I don't mind the judges, but the presenters all need sorting out.

Tess looks desperate, Bruce should go now, Claudia just looks too weird and Zoe speaks far too quickly!

There! That's what I think! hmm

Ana Sun 28-Oct-12 20:44:13

Claudia insists on wearing that pale lipstick that makes her look like a throwback to the 60s - she said once in an interview that she can't give it up! confused
Think it's a pity that Colin's partner is so tiny - he might look less awkward with a taller partner.

annodomini Sun 28-Oct-12 20:53:52

So relieved that Colin is staying - he makes the show worth looking at! grin

Grandola Sun 28-Oct-12 22:13:31

I agree with Numberplease, Lisa is brilliant. She works so hard and has great musicality, fabulous rhythm and she can so dance!! Plus she is dancing with the very gorgeous Robin wink.

celebgran Mon 29-Oct-12 10:38:27

did see that in paper last week annodomini just kind of always liked her feel she came out of her marriage to Jagger with a lot of dignity and as said she was brilliant in west end play.

annodomini Sun 11-Nov-12 20:01:56

What? Kimberley and Pasha in the last two shock. Shows how right they were to bring back the dance-off. I felt last night that Fern's time had come. Sorry, Fern!

numberplease Sun 11-Nov-12 20:43:44

I think that it was very hard to call this week, they all danced really well. Don`t know if the right one went or not, I thought, but may be wrong, that Kimberley teetered just a bit on one of their turns, but I`m no dance expert. I`d like to see Louis or Lisa win. Missed Brucie last night.

Pud Sun 11-Nov-12 21:01:41

Give it up for Richard people! Think he is a star, not likely to win but good entertainment.smile

PRINTMISS Mon 12-Nov-12 08:52:05

I am just a little fed up with the 'weepie' prima donnas - for goodness sake this is a COMPETITION if you don't dance well, you get voted out - that's what it is all about. O.K. so you've worked hard and would like to have done better and really want to win - but please don't cry about it, it just turns me off completely, and you certainly won't get my vote.
