Hmmmmmm as usual my initial response is what an odd lot. Fern Britten is a bit of fun but can't say I'm wildly enthusiastic yet. I still think Kara and Artem were the best ever.

Nanado I thought that about his voice! I guess it was because it was live. shock

Will it all go away for a bit now? Please?

Ella46 Sun 23-Dec-12 12:40:52

Harmless entertainment for some of us feetle grin

Nanado Sun 23-Dec-12 13:40:45

Why feetle did someone tie you to a chair and force you to watch it? grin

Phew! Just watched the recording. News blackout all day. Lewis was my pick from the start because of his strength, grace, co-ordination and physical intelligence. And, well, wow! The samba and the show dance raised my pulse. Phew! Much fanning of face etc. I am - and that does not happen often I can tell you - smitten. He seems to be a very sweet and modest young man which is part of the appeal.

Me too JessM, was only hoping I wouldn't hear the result until time to watch the replay.
I found it hard to decide who would win as they were all so good!
We returned from a very uplifting Carol concert in Ely Cathedral last night and I had to watch the TV do Strictly before I could go to bed!smile

A carol concert at Ely Cathedral. Can't imagine anything more wondrous.

JessM Sun 23-Dec-12 21:21:10

Oh wonderful . Tell me, did they use the King James version for the readings? I went to a carol service last week and i thought the modern translation was so flat.

MaggieP Sun 23-Dec-12 22:43:22

It was all choral and carols, no readings at this one!

Hunt Sun 23-Dec-12 22:54:24

I've just done a reading at a Carol Service. Sadly also not King Jame's. I do so agree that the modern translation I read was flat. I had quite a job to make it sound Wondrous. Lovely carols though.

No poetry is there in new version sad

Oldgreymare Mon 24-Dec-12 11:30:44

Poetry in motion watching Louis, eh Jess! So glad he won! Stayed up 'til 2 a.m. watching the recording (No2 son and wife not fans so had to wait 'til they were safely tucked up in bed!) 'Great Stuff' smile

Was surprised but very pleased that Lewis won! I was sure the Girls Aloud girl would get it. I know he's had all those years of gymnastics but he had to work really hard to learn how to really perform a dance.

re the carol services - I agree that nothing beats the King James. The poetry of it sticks in the mind which is surely the whole point of it.
