Did any one else watch this?

Such a dark, convoluted story! I had to stop knitting to keep up with the twists and turns.

Mamie Sun 27-May-12 10:26:01

Will watch it later today. It is a real problem knitting and subtitles isn't it? I try to keep going and then end up having to unpick it all..

I thought the character was interesting - flawed but perceptive: reminded me of Cracker a bit. Then I fell asleep and just caught the ending.

MrsJamJam Sun 27-May-12 12:20:04

Enjoyed the beginning and then found I was 'resting my eyelids' which is not much help with subtitles. Luckily had set the recorder so will catch up later today. Looks like we will be getting rain this afternoon, so could watch the tv without feeling guilty about the garden.

Yes, I liked the character. I find him attractive - especially when he smiles. I find it difficult to read the sub-titles when the lettering is white against a light background. I stayed the course. Mr soop kept nodding off.

syberia Sun 27-May-12 17:50:25

I thought they said it was part 1 of 2 but they finished this particular story, or did I miss something? smile

Jacey Sun 27-May-12 18:07:53

No syberia it was one of two ...so I'm wondering if the follow on will be something to do with his possibly newly discovered daughter? confused ...or perhaps only two of a series were ever filmed??hmm

Annobel Sun 27-May-12 18:51:51

With any luck they might be pilots for a future series.

crimson Sun 27-May-12 18:57:37

That confused my partner as well, syberia. If it's Crackerlike, I shall definately watch the repeat.

Mamie Sun 27-May-12 19:00:20

I thought it was a bit overly gory. I like a bit of gore, but the shot of the cut out heart was repeated several times; once was more than enough. Good acting, not sure about the direction. I didn't knit though.

greenmossgiel Sun 27-May-12 19:17:15

I fell asleep about half-way through, so I'm going to watch it on Catch-up. I hadn't ever watched Wallender - is this the actor who played the character?

Annobel Sun 27-May-12 19:39:14

Yes, he's one of the Wallanders, just to confuse us. confused

greenmossgiel Sun 27-May-12 19:45:52

Oh....were there more than one? confused He looks a bit 'earthy'....hmm!

Jacey Sun 27-May-12 21:50:42

Define 'earthy' please greenmossgiel confused

greenmossgiel Sun 27-May-12 22:15:46

'Earthy' Jacey.....um, a bit on the sexy side? wink

Jacey Sun 27-May-12 22:20:32

grin

soop Mon 28-May-12 12:56:44

As I've already said - he has a lovely 'come hither' smile

crimson Mon 28-May-12 13:26:29

But he's got MAN BOOBS! Now, did anyone see the presenter of that two part programme about Henry VIII the other week blush swoon.....

Jacey Mon 28-May-12 14:40:54

I don't 'get' the reaction to the actor who played SB ...think I preferred both the other swedish Wallenders to him ...and wasn't exactly 'taken' with them either confused

HildaW Mon 28-May-12 19:10:17

Trouble is I can sort of see how this is going to go..he will get chance to help his new found daughter and find some sort of redemption for being such a nasty man. Yes hes damaged by his baby daughter's death but if I understood things right hes always been a right perve. Its got the old father/daughter thing that drove much of the Wallander series....so hardly new. (Would be happy to be proved wrong)!

greenmossgiel Mon 28-May-12 19:14:56

Was that his baby daughter, Hilda? I thought it was his granddaughter? confused

Annobel Mon 28-May-12 19:21:40

I don't think that's a 'come hither' look, soop. It looked a bit slimy to me. Not a man to trust, I think, despite his psychological insights.

greenmossgiel Mon 28-May-12 19:32:48

'Slimy-earthy', Annobel! grin

HildaW Mon 28-May-12 20:05:39

greenmossgiel......It was his Mum's house and the photo was addressed to 'Grandma....etc' and he spoke of being married and widowed inside 12 years so thats what I sort of thought......?

Annobel Mon 28-May-12 20:09:11

That sounds muddy, green!
