We have become hooked on Homeland on Channel 4, with Damian Lewis. It's on opposite Upstairs Downstairs.
It has won a whole heap of awards and is gripping. Was he 'turned' whilst being incarcerated for 8 years or not?
What do you think?

I think this is one of the best series I've ever seen. I don't think Saul/Sol? is a baddy, but I did think that the other boss was (the one that just got blown up).
Can't wait for the next series.

Fantastic series, looking forward to the next!
Funnily enough my DIL's brother also thinks Saul is a baddie too! I like him and can't believe it.

Did anybody find this a pretty good follow up to series 1.

Hubby thinks Sol is a baddy! I don't. Looking forward to, oh dear, maybe the next 4 series!!!!.

Love it! Can't wait for the next episode.

This series just gets better and better! Another riveting episode last night, as I almost hold my breath waiting to see what she (Claire D) does next!
Great stuff.

GLITABO

Yes I saw that. I thought he was very good. He had a kind of soft comedic twinkle in the eye. Pleasant to watch that's for sure.

I was so annoyed mainstream tele lost out, yet again, to paid T.V.

Actually I might look on Amazon and buy it. Thanks for reminding me.

Has anyone seen the other series that Damien Lewis is in called Life? i thought that was good and I started watching it on Sky. It is starting again on Universal On Monday. He is also very good in that.

POGS Mon 15-Oct-12 15:13:12

Good news. Damien Lewis has just signed up for another 5 years to play Nick Brody. There should be at least another 5/7 series.

Fellow brit David Harewood who plays the CIA Director has also signed up for another 5 years too.

They reckon Obama enjoys the show, bet it gives him food for thought but I guess not really fiction these days for any of us.

Oh blimey getting morbid, must stop, look forward to next week.

Happy viewing.

I have only just watched my recording of latest episode of Homeland.
Crikey!! shock

Ella46 Mon 15-Oct-12 10:01:57

It really is nail biting stuff and Clare Danes is so good, I get stressed out just watching her distress.

LOVE this show! End of last night's episode I couldn't believe I had to wait another week for the next bit of story! So glad Carrie is back in the field now. Hope she stays there. Somehow.

This series is hotting up now, don't you think? How will Brodie carry on through the next few programmes!

POGS Fri 05-Oct-12 00:36:09

Watched it first time around but watching again to refresh memory for series 2. He was funny on Have I got News I agree. Very droll, similar to his acceptance speech recently in U.S.A. for, was it the Emmies?. Somebody correct me please if I am wrong, again!.

We certainly are loosing a lot of talent to America lately.

MaggieP Thu 04-Oct-12 22:55:01

Yes! Looking forward with anticipation! Shall have to record Downton and watch that later.
So many new programmes coming on for the winter, when will we have time to catch up with them all? grin

Ella46 Thu 04-Oct-12 22:22:40

I can't wait, I do hope this series is as good as the first one.

glitabo Thu 04-Oct-12 20:07:49

Homeland series 2 starts on Sunday on channel 4. grin So I shall record both that and Downton Abbey at the same time. Not too much of an overlap there.

Humbertbear Mon 07-May-12 18:40:22

My mother told me the finale was fabulous and she hadnt watched any of the previous episodes! What do we watch while we wait for Series 2? I think Homeland was one of the best things on TV For a long time. Tihink we are going to get out The West Wing box and work our way through that. Is anyone watching Smash?

nanachrissy Mon 07-May-12 11:54:42

I thought that last night was a great finale, and I can't wait for the next series. Really good acting all the way through.

glammanana Mon 07-May-12 11:29:36

What an ending and a door open for the next series I can't wait !! just hope Channel 4 does go ahead with the next series and it is no sold to another Channel as Mad Men was.

moomin Mon 07-May-12 09:37:27

Could hardly bear to watch Homeland last night, so tense! The final episode leaving the way clear for the next series which I believe Channel 4 has secured in the future. I've thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through.

Loving The Bridge too, but will be on holiday when the finale shows - I knew we should have invested in Sky+ wink

MaggieP Mon 07-May-12 09:25:25

Well, what an excellently acted finale and leaves door wide open for second series. We have really enjoyed our Sunday night viewing for the last twelve weeks. Claire Danes performance was impressive and Damien just carries on being good too.
What did you think?

MaggieP Mon 30-Apr-12 11:17:42

I thought maybe Brody will blow up at the end of this series but son thinks he will get further into Politics and so enable Brody to film the second series.
It was gripping last night, with only one more episode, Sunday nights won't be the same!
(we are also hooked onto ' The Bridge' maybe another thread for that?!)

nanachrissy Mon 30-Apr-12 08:56:56

Aniother brilliant episode last night! Clare Danes is an excellent actress.
After seeing Damien on HGNFY I keep expecting him to come out with a one liner! grin

Ganja Mon 30-Apr-12 08:13:29

Surely Damien Lewis has to be the baddy, the Brits are always the villains in American productions.

nanachrissy Mon 09-Apr-12 20:42:53

Well I'm still loving this series. Last night everything seemed to change, and just when I really believed that he was innocent, wham bam he is the baddy again!
