I'm anticipating howls of protest but I love, love, love, Strictly Come Dancing.
So this thread is for all things Strictly. Can't wait!!!!

Edwina to go tonight, sure of it. Actually I do confess to cheating previous years, I go on a web site, forgotten the name of it, where somebody in the audience texts the result, but today I forgot!!!!

nanachrissy Sun 09-Oct-11 20:41:40

I think that's a great plan Notso and now Edwina has gone thank goodness!. She was so embarrassing.

numberplease Sun 09-Oct-11 21:23:54

I`m glad that Edwina has gone, but the last 2 should have been her and Nancy, not Audley.

Oldgreymare Sun 09-Oct-11 23:53:03

Notsogrand..... perfect plan!wink

kittylester Mon 10-Oct-11 07:32:17

Plan seems to be working so far notsowink

Notsogrand Mon 10-Oct-11 08:25:02

I agree that Nancy should have been in the last 2, not Audley, but thank goodness Edwina has gone. Vincent looked quite relieved. smile

throughly enjoyed watching the programme with my 3yr old GD not many programmes you can share with a 3yr old apart from Cbebeeies.
felt quite sorry for Edwina I think she was enjoying herself, can"t stand Nancy hope she goes next week. Broadway theme next week sounds exciting, and (ducks and runs for cover) I STILL LOVE BRUCIE grin

mrshat Mon 10-Oct-11 12:13:28

Brilliant plan notso. I feel sorry for Vincent tho', he normally does so well. I loved his 'farewell jive' - what a mover! Would love to see Ian Waite back. Have a feeling that the 'public' will keep Nancy on which is a shame grin

susiecb Mon 10-Oct-11 13:10:04

Yes she's gone Edwinas comments about herself as 'hot babe' were excrutiating and don't do anything to enhance the status of all us real hot babessmile
I thought the judges were hilarious although Len is perhaps a little naughty for a family show. I do miss Arlene she at least gave tips on posture and dance technique all Alisha says is @I commend you for this and commend you for that' she doesnt know what she is talking about but she does look good. Bruno is worth his wait in gold but Craig is the only truly constructive critic - harsh but fair.

I don't understand why some women think they are so attractive; but then I've stated my dislike for Edwina on another thread so I am not unbiased.

supernana Mon 10-Oct-11 16:59:55

Usually, the more attractive a woman thinks she is - the less attractive I think she is...confused

nanachrissy Mon 10-Oct-11 20:01:45

Do any of you watch "It Takes Two" every evening like me? Or am I the sad one? I miss Claudia W as I found her totally fascinating to watch, with her ridiculous shoes and her smoky eyes.

Notsogrand Mon 10-Oct-11 20:10:29

An other sad one here nanachrissy. Zoe is growing on me but she doesn't have the same 'off the wall' quality as Claudia. smile

Hattie64 Mon 10-Oct-11 20:24:01

Yes another fan of 'it takes two' getting used to Zoe. Does anyone go on the website? I preferred the old format, now it is just a blog, which you can comment on. I haven't any favourites as yet.

glassortwo Mon 10-Oct-11 21:21:44

Glad Edwin has gone errgh, do you think John Major was watching and remembering grin

Notsogrand Mon 10-Oct-11 21:48:44

glass.....Yuck! blush

crimson Mon 10-Oct-11 21:50:08

Oh heck; the thought of Ms Currie and Mr Major 'in flagrante' is worse than thinking of ones parents at such a time. If only Spitting Image had still been going when Ms Curries autobiography was published....

Annobel Mon 10-Oct-11 21:56:03

Having been away at the weekend, I've spent the evening catching up with Strictly - a good way to unwind after a frustrating journey. I hope Nancy follows Edwina this week. The sight of Edwina flirting with Vincent (and just about any other male within reach, including Bruce) was nauseating. And Nancy's dancing was just appalling! But didn't Flavia get Russell's choreography just right and to give him 'Dancing Queen' to perform to was just genius! Hope it's on youtube!

Annobel Mon 10-Oct-11 22:01:40

PS. the great advantage of watching a recording of Strictly is being able to fast forward over Bruce's corny jokes and the training extracts which I usually find irrelevant.

Oldgreymare Mon 10-Oct-11 22:24:42

Annobel.... absolutely! Did I get the impression that the saintly Anton was not quite 'all out to win', he looked as if he were throwing a sack of potatoes around! hmm

Annobel Mon 10-Oct-11 22:42:48

I don't think Anton was relating to Nancy the way he did to Ann Widdecombe. At least she had a sense of humour. Nancy hadn't a clue what Alesha meant when she asked if the dance was meant to be funny! Maybe Anton secretly hoped she would slip thorough his hands and maim herself...wink

grandmaagain Tue 11-Oct-11 10:31:22

another fan of "IT TAKES TWO" here and I like Zoe too, she seems to be enjoying presenting the show, reliving her memories of taking part, which she obviously enjoyed very much.Claudia is very special too glad to see her on the sunday show.

Annobel Sat 15-Oct-11 20:33:30

What an entertaining evening! Difficult to pick out particular performances, but I did love Robbie's tango. He looked so wonderfully predatory. And Jason's tango was equally great, but in a completely different way. And as for Russell - what can I say? But Nancy MUST GO!

numberplease Sun 16-Oct-11 02:16:31

Everyone improved this week, but Nancy still stiands out as the worst one, don`t know who I`d put in the last 2 with her, possibly Audley. Loved Jason`s dance, and adored Russell`s!

curlynana Sun 16-Oct-11 08:54:00

I love watching Strictly at the weekend - it's the highlight of the weekend for me (how sad!). I think they've all improved too, you can't help loving Russell, but Nancy is awful. She looks to me like she's had a few drinks before she goes on! Jason is brilliant but he had an advantage last night, with that song! I think Nancy will go tonight, she doesn't endear herself to anybody, poor Anton.
