Sounds daft but I thought it was just a matter of them changing things. It’s only slightly different from the one I’m on. It’s supposed to be coming tomorrow. Beside worrying how I change it I am being asked to register it when I get it.Do I do that before or after changing it over. I am so worried I might be without a phone. Also will my contacts all be on the new Sim? I remember when there was a change from pay as you go to my contract the contacts were missing. The other thing is that you used to be able to phone EE on 150. Now they direct you to a link and when I looked it was confusing. They call it interactive. No person so suppose AI. I wish I had just continued with my old contact at higher price. I know I sound idiotic but my 85 years are catching up on me. Can anyone help this confused old woman?

They did the same to me when I upgraded, you don’t need to do anything the sim you have will still work ok ee seem to do it in case you’ve requested a new number or your sim is damaged mine is in a drawer somewhere I never activated the new one.

Thank you for that tanith. I expect you kept thinking it would soon stop working. How strange🙃😏

Thank you again tanith. I might be getting a new phone in another year perhaps and that sim sent now might well be necessary in a new phone. I have had the same sim for a long time. Thank you so much.

Yesterday Talk Talk sold out to BT before it went under - when I switched on, just after midnight, EE were demanding that I register with them!

After a lot of faffing about I managed to connect - eventually - through Talk Talk.

If I wanted to be with EE (who I understand have had quite some problems with Customer Service in the past) then I would have been with them, of my own free will.

My God, it didn't take the vultures long to move in and start picking over Talk Talk's carcass......

Margs I ve been with EE for donkey years and they ve been really good with any problems I have had over the years and although you do now go through a robot on customer service you can just request a human being and they ring you back so it’s really best of both worlds.
I can’t fault them

I'm another happy EE customer.

I changed my provider to bt, made a mess of the first sim they sent, I did something before something else!
They sent me another, got it fight and then paid for 2 for 3 months till they sorted it all out.
As it is only £5/month I didn’t panic. I was paying £21 to O2 so was still in pocket.
All sorted now after talking to extremely helpful people.
If you are worried give them a ring and they will talk you through it.

POSSIBLE SCAM ALERT..

Be very careful with this.

About a month ago l got a call from a man who said that the he was from EE and that my phone needed a new SIM card and wouldn't work without it.

The new card would delivered on Friday afternoon by Courier and that l should and over my old SIM card to the Courier.

He was very insistent. I told him l thought it was a scam and he got very annoyed. I told him where to go in no uncertain terms and cut him off.

I immediately rang EE and they said that it was a scam. One of the many that were newly reported on almost daily basis.

As BT have now taken over Talk Talk.

This probably looks like a field day for scammers. So beware.

But why were you having problems in the first place?

I just changed my EE contract and I didn't have to change my SIM card.

Well I have put my new SIM card away thinking it will be useful if and when I change my phone. I had a text to say someone would contact me within 48 hours to clarify something in my contract. I want to speak to someone as on the last contract I had a block on any extras being charged. When I filled in the online form it asked me what cap I wanted. I tried £10 but it didn’t respond but no cap did. I hoped to sort that out later.

Waited for a phone call and today one came at 11.30 just as I had popped, out to the bin. Heard it but missed it. Rang the number and the automated voice said someone would ring again. Have spent all day with my phone in a small bag which I am carrying around in hope.
