I buy a lot of my shoes/sandals from JD Williams catalogue. They do various heights and styles. I need wide shoes and have always found their wide fit comfortable.

Try Van Dal or Gabor.

Have you looked at Hotter?
They do wide fit, their sandals come in a variety of shades and some metallics.

Just had a peek at their on line. The Betsy open toe in metallic looks lovely and Wedding like.

Would second the suggestion from teetime about Van Dal and Gabor. I have truly ugly and difficult feet and have found both brands comfortable for pretty, ‘special’ shoes. Worth a look if you can.

I also meant to add, my daughter struggled to find wedding shoes, she can't wear heels either, so she bought an inexpensive pair of shoes on ASOS, I think she only wore them that one occasion and then only for a few hours - they were cream lace wedges. She then changed to a smart new pair of white trainers for the dancing!

Serena Williams wore trainers to Harry and Meghan's wedding, not suggesting you do, but it's just an example of how people are more genuine these days about their needs.

I remembered that I bought a pair of shoes recently for a "do" where I would need to stand, and shoes with a slight platform on the ball of the foot are often comfy because then you are in effect not wearing a heel. Anyhoo, I came across these in our local Debs and they are super comfy, the straps across the foot and on the slingback are elastic, they come complete with bling:

I bought a super pair of peep toe wedges last year from Hotter - red suede with pom pom and gold linings. So comfortable - I wore them all day. They had them in other colours too - might also be worth trying the Hotter outlet shops as they often have quite a range of shoes from past seasons.

I’m afraid I can’t help with the shoe question but just wanted to object to the advert that’s now popped up on my screen below the thread - for a podiatrist course, illustrated by a picture of a big toe being punctured by a scalpel ?????

I would go round the shops and try them on . Plenty of sales . You need comfort .

Whatever shoes you choose buy a comfortable pair of flaties to change into if you need to. I was at a wedding last summer and only made it to the end of the ceremony in my “wedding” shoes. My husband went back to the car for my spare shoes. I couldn’t have walked there in the ones I was wearing. I thankfully changed, then one after the other most of the other female guests did the same.

I sympathise, I live in trainers and virtually flat sandals without a problem until there is the need to look a bit dressier, and a dress does usually look better with a bit of a heel. I also would recommend Hotter, and I have had a pair from Moshulu that were comfortable, but more casual.

Watching Lorraine this morning you can now buy crocs with a high heel just a suggestion?

MawBroon I didn't pay £69 (that would have killed me given it's fake rope-soles, two straps of wide elastic and a couple of strips of bling - I got mine on the sale.

But they're super shoes.

SIL's niece got married in converse trainers, nowadays you can buy lovely sparkly trainers. Strappy glitzy sandals would serve the purpose, trillions to chose from.
