Bikini line hair

Sorry bonji I'm past wearing a bikini now I wear a one piece but in the dim and distant past shaving was my method it was just too much faff with creams and such. Have a lovely trip.

tanith beat me to it! Seems we're all hair obsessed at the moment. There was a thread a few days ago about razors I think in case that's any help? Personally, I'm same as above. Always been fair so a (careful) once over with the razor has always been enough for me. The few times I tried to go to a salon it was a little...eyewateringly painful if I'm honest. Maybe I've got a low threshold . There's loads of gadgets these days though. I know one razor I bought had a special attachment thingie for bikini lines.

If it's France you are off to, then don't bother - no-one cares about it there.

I wear a bikini so I can put dry nicks on after swimming. Who bothers about hair, not me and certainly not the French. Relax

Iam64 why do you need to put on dry nicks after a bikini do you not put dry nicks on after wearing a one piece as well or do you not normally wear nickers at all

If you leave your towel by the pool edge you can slip out of the water and be wrapped up before anyone sees you which is my method for trying to hide horrendous cellulite. Or you could try waxing. It works - but you need courage! Lots of courage!

If not it's out with the razor.

Thanks for all your suggestions! Today I purchased some 'posh Wilkinson Sword' razors so will give them a try. Husband says I should worry less about the hairline but think how I am going to get in and out of the pool. I am booked at the hospital for my first hip replacement at the end of September so must admit not quite as mobile as I would like.

Have just returned from holiday with DGCs and it's the first time I've gone swimming with the 5 and 6 yr-olds. Came very tentatively from changing room to be told by little DGD 'Gran you look beautiful'. I knew it wasn't true but it was lovely to hear and my one-piece wasn't so revealing that I was worried about it!

Perhaps the French are not so bothered about bikini-lines when swimming etc., but if one goes into hospital, then it is a requirement to de-hair the whole of the vulva beforehand. I found Veet Sensitive for the bikini line gave a very good result - but takes practice.

What, even if you go into hospital to have an operation on your jaw?

As far as I'm aware, yes Ana. When I had an op on my forehead, I had to do that as well as to shower in their favourite antiseptic - a yellow idoine. I think the rules about that have changed in the past 18 mths or so.

never heard of that ! did you have to shave your eyebrows and head too ?

In UK midwives stopped shaving women in labour years ago as not deemed necessary or an infection risk, I presume this is still so?

I don't know loopy but I assume so. I didn't find it a bother.

The hospitals here, from my experience, are very hot on infection control. The ones I've been in have been immaculate.

Nowadays many young women have Brazilians or Hollywood waxing so hospitals wouldn't need to shave them .

ffin you certainly do not need to de hair your whole area down below. Ive just had an op where the incision ends just above the hair line and I had a catheter in my bladder and all my hair was intact. Would have waxed it if Id been brave enough.

Hi all. Just back from the trip to Lyon and after all your tips can report that the shaving with gel and the 'posh' wilkinson sword razors worked a treat so bikini line hair not a problem, although I did limit exposure to a one piece. However as Luckgirl and Iam64 said the French don't bother so much and there was a lot of 'old age skin' skin and cellulite on display around the pool. We had a great family trip and our 2 daughters gave their dad a 70th birthday to remember although he says 70 does feel very old. 16 month old grandson was of course a delight although his mum said being woken up by him at 5.00am wasn't.
If you haven't been on holiday yet do make the most of it when you go and if you can't have a holiday for whatever reason do hope you can enjoy whatever you do as it is the everyday things that are most important, not just a week or two in the year.
