My daughter was on her way to the clothing bank but I said I'd go trough the clothes first, and have found a couple of nice tops that I'm going to keep . I'll add them to all of the other clothes that I never wear...[she had a handbag as well, so I said we'd better look inside it and go through all the pockets of the clothes; haven't found anything thus far but I have often found notes in pockets/handbags that I'd forgotten about]

Agree. I like to wear thick dark tights with my boots.
Though recently I did buy a par of jeggings from M&S and they're quite good tucked into boots too.

I nearly bought my wedding dress in Kensington High St Biba..it was knee length with lots of see -through white netting, but £25!I bought a long Ossie Clark cream dress instead because it was £22..worth a bit more now

Glass, go and look in House of Fraser if you can. They have really captured the essence of the old Biba, I think.

I wanted to buy my wedding dress in Biba but couldn't find one I liked so I ended up buying a very hippy one in Bus Stop.
I find the prices for Biba at House of Fraser way out of my range, but I've got a couple of nice pieces by Barbara Hulanicki at Asda.

Yes I still have it and it still fits...only because its fairly baggy and has a tie at the back!I think this style of wedding...garlands in your hair,floaty dresses etc is coming back in fashion so I'll keep it in case I get married again my daughters ever marry

What a quick morph from leggings to weddings via Biba.

My mother made mine. The fabric was a sort of daisy broderie anglaise and cost £5 from John Lewis. It was a very, very short mini dress and I had a daisy hat to go with it.

absent, YES! Legginged bums should definitely be covered if the bum in question belongs to anyone over the age of about twelve (and even some of those would look nicer if they were better dressed).

Trying to pick up the leggings/weddings/Biba threads all at once:

I love my jeggings in various colours from M & S and have even grown confident enough to leave my well-over-12-year-old jegginged bum otherwise uncovered - it's not that unattractive a bum and my legs are probably still my best feature, so why not?!

And I bought a gorgeous sparkly black Biba handbag, complete with Biba logo in gold, from HoF for my DD1's wedding - only to find it was in the sale half price the week after. Still, it was worth it.

Oh yes, leggings can be for any age or shape! It's what you wear them with, some long boots and a long jumper would look fab!

OGM Per Una do a lovely long tartan skirt [I've two] that fit well on the waist and hips and then flare in graduated layers. If I can, I'll post a pic in my album.

OGM I managed to locate two pics of the type of skirt I enjoy wearing. One is 1st in the album and the second had gone into number 10 position. Don't ask me why!

I had a couple of Per Una skirts of the sort you describe but, in a mad moment, donated them to a friend, now I want them back

I've just bought some leggings from Asda to wear at the gym. I was well chuffed when I found some old leggings of my daughters that fitted me, only to get to the gym and notice that Mr Moth had found them first [blighter]. So I tootled to Asda. The throuble is I've bought some leggings and also some thermal legging things; I think the thermal ones are to wear round the house cause they've got a little bow at the top [and might be a teensy bit see through ]. Feel very odd wearing them, though. Currently walking round the house with them [the gym ones]tucked into my Ugg type boots. If I venture outside in them I'll feel as if I'm not dressed properly. Is this something I'll get used to? Feel ever so warm, though .

I had a look in our local Asda the other day for leggings - but they only had jeggings. Did you get the thermal ones from there too, Tegan? They sound like just the thing for me at the moment, though I'd probably wear them under the too-thin jogging trousers from M&S!

I got the thermal ones from M&S to wear under trousers last year. They worked well.

I bought my first ever pair last week, thermal ones from John Lewis, to wear to zumba and under trousers when we're out walking.
They look bnicer than I thought they would and I'm now wondering if I dare wear them with heeled shoes and a tunic dress too

The S.O. told me I looked a bit 'odd' [nothing new there then] but I told him that it was because it was new'ish fashion wise and he needed to get used to it. I think I'll be able to wear them if I know I'm going to the gym but will still feel undressed if I wear them anywhere else. What the Asda ones don't seem to do is 'pull me in' [ie not enough lycra] so, if I do venture forth wearing some I need to get a pair that are more flattering. I'm going to get a thermal top next week I am going to Northumberland and, as a wet southerner I feel perished when I get north of Newcastle. Ana, the thermal things were by the nightclothes, so I assume I'm meant to sleep in them; they were in plastic bags and cost £6. I tried some 'jeggings' on and I looked bloomin' awful . I'm going to put on the thermal ones soon to see if they make me itch [which thermal things tend to do]. Years ago I was stood in a field talking to a vet and she said to me at the time that she never understood why anyone felt cold when they could buy thermals.
