I'll be watching - in fact I'm already watching! Now that Rafa has retired and Carlos is still injured, my hopes are pinned on my other favourite Sascha Zverev, now the French Open Champion!

I love Wimbledon fortnight, and have even been lucky enough to be there in person a couple of times recently, on Centre Court, and No1 Court. Fantastic experiences both!

I'll be keeping a weather eye on the Brits and hoping for some of them to make it to week 2.

Take care everyone. Play! xxx

I don’t really follow tennis so didn’t realise that Alcaraz wasn’t playing. Are there any other players that I need to look out for? Most of my old favourites have gone.

I don't know the names of the Brits and I thought the Williams sisters had retired years ago.

Venus and Serena did retire from singles, that is why (for those who like them) it’s so great seeing them back playing together as wildcards.

They are legends.

Will be wonderful to see them play again.

Just read that Jack Draper has now pulled out!

Nice empty shops, uiet walks, builders in and a garden to nurture. Who wants o watch sport?

Love Wimbledon. Been twice through the ballot but no success in recent years.
The William's sisters will bring much needed interest, it's been a bit boring last few years. Was looking hopeful for Emma, she must be very disappointed as are her supporters. Would be great to see Jack Draper successful with Andy Murray's input. Have a fab tournament. Lots of strawberries & cream, Prosecco & Pimms.

My two favourite commenters are Martina and McEnroe, ‘specially if they’re together! They were among my favourite players back in the day.

Even though they’ll probably all be out on day 1, team GB have a lot of wildcards these year!

I’ll be glued to the tv for the next fortnight. I love Wimbledon. I have been a few times and I could have been there on Sunday if I could have afforded the two tickets I got in the draw, but £200 each was way too much, so I’ll enjoy my armchair viewing yet again.
I’ll be supporting Sinner, won’t be watching any ladies tennis, especially not the Williams sisters, and I’ll have the commentators on very low volume or mute, depending on who it is.
Can of Pimms chilling nicely in the fridge.

My early viewing is very much dependent upon who is commentating and how frequently they pause for breath during the game. So much wittering at times.

Remembering our DF Lucca, still sadly missed especially during Wimbledon fortnight. 🎾😢

Yes. I always think of Lucca when Wimbledon starts, too.

Definitely, I don’t tend to watch the earlier matches unless there’s a particular favourite playing.
Then once the quarter finals are on I’m glued!

Grandmadinosaur Mon 29-Jun-26 11:02:22

Yes I will be watching. It’s the highlight of my year I love it.
I’ll miss seeing Carlos Alcaraz so rooting for the Brits. Looking forward to seeing the Williams sisters too. It’s a shame there’s to be no Emma Radacanu this year.

MissAdventure Mon 29-Jun-26 10:55:51

I might give it a go.
Just because my mum and daughter both loved Wimbledon.

jusnoneed Mon 29-Jun-26 10:43:14

I will watch some of the men's games, tomorrows with Jack Draper and Taylor Fritz should be a good one.
I also like watching Sinner play.

I don't watch much of the woman's competition, cannot warm to any of them these days. Have never liked the Williams sisters.
And then we know most of the Brits will be knocked out early, and Raducanu pulled out again (surprised not).

tanith Mon 29-Jun-26 10:30:54

I will watch some but not all matches I need to figure out who everyone is again as the top few seem to change every couple of years now and I only really watch when it’s Wimbledon on. Sad that our top seed won’t be playing though.

Cossy Mon 29-Jun-26 10:23:45

Any tennis fans? Especially Wimbledon?

Sad to see our female number one not competing due to injury! Emma R did so well at Queens.

Still, this week we do have a number of Brits and a good few wildcards.

Will you be watching and who are you supporting?

I’ll def be watching all our girls and boys and the Williams Sisters who are playing (as wild cards) in the doubles.

Might have to turn off the volume if there is too much “grunting” on court, drives me nuts!
