This thread is not about the rights and wrongs of the banning of Allira. There is an active second thread where the whole matter can be and is being discussed in detail for anyone who is interested. GNHQ has not deleted it ( nor the previous one). However, a group of posters on that thread decided to take their campaign onto other completely unrelated threads. It’s irritating at least when these posts pop up but matters reached a new low today when it was thought appropriate to bring mention of the matter onto the thread about Henry Nowak. What next? The bereavement thread? A thread about someone with a serious illness? Can you just stop it and keep the campaign where it belongs? Start more threads if you want for example but just butt out of unrelated threads.

Grandmaofone

did you not heed the word - exasperated

collectively, I genuinely believe posters have been endlessly patient, tolerant, kind but there is a limit

no one should be on a forum walking on eggshells,
treated like mushrooms, edged out of conversations,
by posters throwing themselves about over an erstwhile
poster
as though GNHQ are completely out of order without
the self reflection of a mirror

I don’t believe there is goodwill to all posters here Aveline
whilst a coterie of posters are disruptive, anxious, subversive,
deluded.
Perhaps there are many who would want a banned poster returned but you are behaving badly, strident, belligerent and bellicose, do not heed warning shots as you believe you know better when in fact a poster on the original thread laid it all out for you and the Allira fanclub in well researched detail
when I was informed that it was bollox! then in capital letters told it was libellous! and GNHQ allowed this to stand. They have been more than patient.
You do yourself no favours by these disruptive posts.
I’m tired of this, your group have wrecked any genuine goodwill here.
and Aveline, your sly jibe tells all

I think this post, is just as bad as the original post, if not worse, than the one Aveline posted.

Why oh why does anyone here speak for everyone else.

Out of respect for everyone I’m coming off this thread completely.

You all, can of course, do as you wish.

We are continuing the Thread with other comments now, in case you hadn't noticed, but feel free to pull it if you so desire.

Now there's the other thing that happens.
While I was typing, slowly, my comment about Granmaofone's point, other posts popped up, which I didn't see, until later, but to someone else looking at the Thread, it could appear that I was ignoring them.
Perhaps, on a busy, robust Thread, that is how some great posts are missed

Yes there’s often as many as five other posts, sometimes making our own comment redundant.😁

Hmmm, I may be doing something wrong…I just use the ‘quote’ option to reply to a particular post so that people can see who I’m replying to…is that not right? Should I be doing something else instead?

Maremia Mon 08-Jun-26 16:59:19

Are you attempting to 'police the Thread'?
Thought that was a GN no, no. shock

JenniferEccles Mon 08-Jun-26 17:03:51

I am pleased someone from GNHQ (Annie) has commented on this thread, in effect confirming that the discussion about Allia being banned should be confined to the thread on that subject already in existence.

stillawipp Mon 08-Jun-26 17:05:29

Oh, is that to me? In which case I don’t even know what that means, let alone am trying to do it 🤣🤣

If GNHQ don't want this thread (here and now) to continue they will close it.

I think points have been made and it can die out once comments on other threads stop.

I don't have any appetite for going on after that once other threads can thrive.

Maremia Mon 08-Jun-26 17:17:20

Sorry stillawipp, not you. That was yet another case, as discussed up the Thread, of leap frogging posts.

stillawipp Mon 08-Jun-26 17:28:58

Aha, ok thanks

Ps “Length of service does not confer seniority on here. “ I love this & would love to see it above every thread!

Silvershadow Mon 08-Jun-26 17:41:51

I think the original point has been made, Gransnet seem to agree and now it’s time to leave it. The missing contributors thread is still up and running for those who need it.

Sadly, as long as this all continues the essence of Gransnet will be lost and that will be a shame.

It would be good but am afraid this goes for most situations, I once volunteered for a local charity and those who had been there the longest tended to rule the roost. Also I was brought up in a village near the Pennines but my parents who had lived there when they were first married were still seen by some as outsiders when they died, they would joke that you had to have at least three generations living in the village to not be considered a newcomer.
Doubt I will live long enough now to be seen as a veteran of Gransnet so will just live with being a Johnny come lately. 😆

I agree Silvershadow

I've been here over ten years now and rarely post, just read. Like @Fallingstar, I'm also a carer, and looking in here helps to distract when things weigh heavy.
I was very sorry to learn about the bans and hope that those members are allowed back.
But posting on other threads and disrupting them isn't going to help. The Henry Nowak thread interruptions made me shake my head, not nice at all.

Sorry to hear you are in a similar situation, and it does help to have a look and see what others are chatting about or arguing about on here.
Take care 💐

Matza Mon 08-Jun-26 17:54:24

Ha ha. I enjoy the Johnny Come Lately contributions best. Breath of fresh air at times! smile

Galaxy Mon 08-Jun-26 17:55:12

For what it is worth I don't think posting on other threads is a good idea, it is disruptive, I am also of the view that people could write to the PM, contact advertisers and it would make no difference whatsoever. I have seen a range of strategies to try to overturn a ban and barely ever seen any work.

Matza Mon 08-Jun-26 17:55:52

Thanks Fallingstar! This must be a record posting day for me! I hope you are doing ok.

Not bad. As you know some days are better than others. 👍

I agree, this thread will soon fade away.

Sago Mon 08-Jun-26 18:45:15

I agree with Tuliptree it is bad form to hijack other threads.

I have left the Henry Nowak thread I started because it started to get nasty and now it seems the banned poster is being discussed on that thread (I have not been back to look).

We have to remember we don’t know everything, I once got quite an unpleasant message from a popular poster, I didn’t take it to HQ but could have done.

kittylester Mon 08-Jun-26 18:57:45

At least we know that Annie is reading threads. Maybe posts on other threads wouldn't be needed if GN engaged with the 'Disappearing Posters' thread.

Sandrina Mon 08-Jun-26 19:57:32

I agree with Tuliptree, it was out of order.
