Can anyone tell me why some people’s posts are partly crossed through? There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it and it is puzzling me. Does Gransnet do it? I can’t see it being the poster as, surely, they could just delete the bit that shouldn’t be there. I’d love to know!
I don’t think you understand pascal why it’s used. It’s an amusing poke at one’s own thoughts. Self deprecating. I think it’s gone over your head (and those of a few others).
You are unbelievably patronising..FGT If they were amusing it might be worth doing..
I wonder why it doesn't work on some devices and only a straight line appears?
Hyphen –—–‐‐--—–—––---- this is fun ‐‐‐---‐‐‐---
Some devices have different operating systems. even one phone may be different from another., or one tablet from another tablet. I have no bother on a desktop pc. What do others use, and do they do the crossing-out the same way?
Feel obliged to point out, seeing as this thread is now on page 6, that the instructions on how to do the crossings out, under ‘Emphasis’ at the bottom of the page, are totally inadequate for those of us with iPads etc.
CrazyH, your hyphens have formed one straight line - you need to jiggle around with backspacing (using cursor or finger) to get two separate hyphens at each end of the word but no spaces between the hyphens and the word.
Using smiley faces again, 😊😊word😊😊, but it’s not so easy to get the spaces between the hyphens.
