Good question.

I like to post that I've reported the spam post so that GNHQ doesn't get inundated with reports (working on the principle that they only need one report to tell them that something is wrong). And to stop other people wasting time reporting something that has already been reported.

I have to confess that I'm not overbothered by the state of the 'active' list, it's not always right at the best of times.

I thought it might be a helpful idea to deal with the spam posts while we wait for GNHQ to remove them. If I’ve got that wrong just ignore me.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. The older I become the more often I find myself uttering those words 😆

If a spam thread appears at the top of the active list I report it (without saying so) then hide it.

I think I hid at least fifteen yesterday but at least I wasn’t tripping over them.

I made my suggestion with my IT hat on.

If it's anything like the website, I manage, each message/report goes into the dedicated mailbox. The other day, I had 150 messages in a few minutes. It drove me mad deleting them!

It's the hunting time for spammers and scroungers from all over the world.

I think I want yo know if something is already reported. If it is I can walk on by ? If not I will report it.

I totally understand that it's pretty stupid for several peopke to report the same thing and then all of them write "reported".

It will only be on top for a minute if no one else posts anything.

Not telling us when something is reported means we can't even see which we have reported!

I agree withNotSpagetthi one ‘reported’ tells us it’s being dealt with and no one else need bother, it’s when there’s half a dozen ‘reporteds’ that it becomes a pain, as it’s then constantly putting it to the top
One reported and not so many threads telling us to bump, most of us know that anyway

I agree BlueBelle. If you see 1 beside the thread title (on mobile) nobody has commented. If someone posts that they have reported, it says 2. If I see a 2 I don’t bother opening it to report.

Life is too short and there must be better things to do than stress out about bumping/reported and as for actual bumping threads
All I want to do when I see these spam threads is to tell them to Foxtrot Oscar.
