This afternoon I was reading Leviticus 25:35
"If your brother becomes impoverished and loses his ability to support himself in the community you must come to his aid - help him to survive."
ie before he collapses completely.
Which I thought was apt for these days.

I don't think this is a Bible quote but one of my favourite hymns.

This always reminds me of my Stepfather who wasn't at all religious, but after my mother died was so lost and forlorn that it nearly broke my heart. He died of cancer 8 months later, and this hymn(?) sums up how I felt.

When I was in a church choir we used to sing " The Lord bless and keep you " blessing often. It was one of my favourites.

I'm not too keen on the passages that exhort us to act like angels.

The story I loved most as a child was of Jesus being tempted by the Devil. Even though I knew the outcome I was convinced that he would give in one day! So still, every time I am faced with something and my conscience raises its unwelcome head, I mentally say 'Get thee behind me, Satan'! Not moving in the sense intended by the OP, but it galvanises me into action and moves me away from temptation on a fairly regular basis.
