Depends on the situation for me but I do remember in an interview Chris Blackwell of Island records said that there were two types of people he had met: the generous hearted and the mean spirited. I chose to be, as far as possible, the former.

My colleagues used to say that I killed them with kindness. Does that fulfill the criteria for a good and kind heart?

I aspire to be kind, not always sure I reach the mark but I keep on trying.

I try to be but I m sure I fail sometimes and I m ashamed to say I m not very kind to slugs

I think (and sincerely hope) so. For example I would welcome friends and family indoors even if they hadn't let me know in advance. Also I would be happy to share the bill equally with friends and family irrespective of what each individual had consumed.
