HAPPY NEW YEAR

Is the whole of the Highlands still in bed? Been at work since 9am and apart from a couple of dogs walkers when we walked ours at lunch time I have seen no-one.

Happy New Year everyone, we had a lovely dinner with DH, my sisters and theirs, just 6 of us. Quiet and very civilised after the recent chaos of larger family gatherings, but most enjoyable.

Happy New Year to all you lovely Gransneters. DH and I were going away to friends for New Year but, unfortunately, both they and we are poorly so we both spent the evening at home and toasted each other with Lemsip at midnight.

We meant to watch the concert too but only remembered half way through that it was on.

A very happy New Year to you all out there in Gransnet land. Lunch is all prepared and ready to cook. Pork is roasting and everything else is done, so I'm sitting watching the New Year's Day concert from Vienna. It's a lovely way to start the year.

A Happy New Year to everyone, on this quiet frosty first morning of 2016. Always have mixed feelings on New Year's Day, wondering what the next 12 months have in store for us personally, and the world in general. But we have our son's wedding to plan for, so plenty of fun and anticipation in the offing, and no doubt a certain amount of stress

The fireworks on BBC1 were spectacular, I thought, really enjoyed them and the odd one I saw outside but it was cloudy, although a few Chinese lanterns went past. Toasted with a high five and fist bump with my son as he was too lazy to get a drink! Then danced Auld Lang Syne with my doggie. Then back to my film.

Happy New Year from Oz to all of you lovely GN's. Started 2016 with a wonderful hug from DS, after a hug from Mr. S. of course; the 2 most important men in my life.

What? Jools is dead? I mean, his show is not live? That's terrible and I feel totally let down. Didn't think it was as good this year as it usually is anyway.

I have to say that I was hugely disappointed to read that Jools Holland's programme was recorded a few weeks ago! I suppose that shows how naive I am (thinking it was all live and that all the artists were happy to be working on NYE) on two levels.

I feel a bit like being told that Father Christmas isn't really real.....
