Today we had to say a sad goodbye to our beautiful little black and white cat called Panda, so named because he had a face like a baby panda. He adopted us 13 years ago when his callous owners moved house in the middle of winter and left him behind. He came to our kitchen window cold wet dishevelled and starving. We took him in on a temporary measure whilst searching for his owners. On discovering the truth we decided to adopt him. We already had a house full already with two cats and a very bouncy standard Poodle so it was the last thing we needed. He was grateful for a warm house and a regularly filled food bowl, so much so that he repaid us with so much love and affection. We grew to love him dearly and he comforted us when we lost our other animals over the course of the last couple of years. Tonight our house is void of animals and has a river of tears flowing through it. I cannot believe the grief, is this normal?
Thank you dear Panda for the love and happiness you brought to our home.
Will love you forever

. It absolutely IS normal to grieve for Panda especially as you have so recently lost him. He was a much-loved member of your family and you gave Panda the best possible life during his 13 years with you.
