How does one pronounce geo-politics, then?

JulieNoted is correct in that the 'e' is usually a marker for a 'soft' 'g' but with English being a mongrel language there are always exceptions. How about 'get'?

One doesn’t use the term “geo-politics” so am unable o advise on its pronunciation.

My all time annoyance, tumeric instead of turmeric, even more irritating when a chef does this.

Him Indoors says 'serieses' instead of just 'series' and it drives me bonkers!

KIL-o-metre, not Kil-OM-metre. How do you pronounce 'centimetre'? It's not like 'thermometer', which is something that does the measuring, not the measure itself.
