This is one definition:

Describing actions, strategies, or groups characterized by the practice of entering an organization to influence it from the inside.

Some others add that the entryists may be from another organisation and are seeking to join the 'entered' organisation with theirs

I'm not sure where the line is dawn between those wishing to change an organisation, say, to bring it more up to date, or make it more accessible and those who wish to radically change the principles/purpose of the entered organisation.

Thanks MaizieD, so that could mean joining a group, not because you agree and want to support it, but to make changes within the target that would support a cause you already espouse?

Caroline (aka Saint Caroline) is an articulate intelligent politician but also deeply flawed. She has encouraged the self ID gender stuff which is now tearing the party apart. She helped launch the Brighton council “Trans Toolkit for Schools” which was a radical total affirmation of being “in the wrong body” for school age children, she was my MP and lives nearby. Not all that shines is gold. But next to Polanski she is a giant. But don’t forget she never had to make serious government decisions, never had serious power, so could remain with clean hands and all things to many people. But her work on gender has left a bad legacy here and in the Greens. Brighton families have been taking the council to court.

That's a good question Maremia. I think they are both joining a group to make it more extreme, but they have different goals.

An AP joins a group with the goal of destroying it. They will incite members of the group to commit illegal acts or violence so that they can be arrested or discredited.

An entryist joins a group with the goal of taking over the group and changing its priorities and direction. They are not trying to destroy the group, but to use it for their own ends.

I have. Refuse collection was particularly bad friends who lived there during her reign, and they were not impressed by the management of Brighton. Practical issues such as Refuse collection was seriously poor, and little was done to rectify it, whilst an enormous amount of time and effort was devoted to gender issues.

I’ve never seen her as a Saint, but I guess she may be compared to Polanski and some Green members.
I think she was naive over the trans debacle but genuinely wanted to be helpful.

They have become a rabble under Polanski. The days of Caroline Lucas and the green agenda are past.
He is a shallow cowardly charlatan presiding over a party of extremists, antisemites, trans lobbyists and ex corbynistas.
Shameful. They deserve to implode which is looking more and more likely.

The Green Party has lost its way. Bring back Caroline Lucas !

MayBee70 I had stickers like that too. I moved house and no longer have them. Yours is precious. I wish I still had mine. They were full of meaning and still are. Who’d have thought we would still be trying to save whales all these decades later? So sad. 😭

I find it very telling that membership of the Greens increased by 55% as soon as Polanski took over. This huge increase I find very suspicious bearing in mind what we know now. These are not Green voters who have suddenly sprung out of the woodwork. 🤔

Mines very old, quite grubby and faded so I doubt that I can rescue it in any way. I will take a photo and frame that I think. I was walking back from school decades ago and another mother saw my Greenpeace badge; we became such friends. Before that I had a tin soldier which I also loved. I always buy spares of things but never the ones that I need a spare of! We really thought we could save the world back then, didn't we .

I do think, talking to friends and family that it's also down to social media coverage. Remember Polanski went on The Last Leg so lots of younger people will have watched that. They do seem to like Burnham now, though, so maybe the things he does that I dislike Tik Tok etc are actually working for Labour.

The Green Party has really lost it's way. The environment is lucky to get a mention nowadays.

Naive is putting it mildly. The gender transition issue is a medical and social scandal and she promoted it fiercely as does her friend Sian Berry who she anointed to take over her seat. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and Caroline Lucas (ironically known in Brighton as Saint or Queen Caroline) promoted the idea of trans children and held back from reigning in the local excesses of All Sorts and council staff. Easy to look golden when no one holds you to account. My Green Party friends are outraged by the hounding of anyone. Who thinks sex is an important characteristic. This is not his Polanski
