"What a load of bitter old biddies" How strange that sounds as if you're describing yourself Paddyann, it's the unmistakable vitriol.

"The French had the right idea" hmm the main instigators, namely Robespierre, Danton and Desmoulins all ended up on the guillotine too, is that what you had in mind as to the "right idea" Or possibly, as well as being one of those gloating old biddies furiously knitting whilst parked up around the guillotine as the heads rolled. Or no doubt you'd be pleased to know the son of Louis XV1 and Marie Antoinette, only a child, around 10 when he died was abused and mistreated whilst incarcerated. I expect that would have made you as happy but not as happy to know the Tsar's children were bayoneted before being slung down a mine shaft to their deaths.

“Bitter old biddies” - it takes one to know one paddyann as you have proved yourself time and time again.
I doubt if paddyann has any idea what happened during the French Revolution as her only reading matter seems to be the National …

Breaking News says Harry will likely favour the Cotswolds to be near the Spencer estate and family. Lucky old Cotswolds, if true.

Age is a protected characteristic under the equality act. People would not use the other protected characteristics such as sexuality, race as a slur but age seems fair gane. It is weird.

Of course he does and so will Meghan. It’s close to everything and everyone in their world.
Soho Farmhouse are probably sprucing up the new pad as we speak.

I wonder whose predictions will turn out to be right.

MarieElla Thu 20-Aug-26 12:07:38

I am not surprised at Harry waning to come back and he is delusional enough to think he can win people back and become the nations' lived 'Cheeky chappy Prince' again but I am surprised he convinced Meghan as she clearly hated it here and has zero understanding of British life let alone the Royal family!

The Cotswolds are nowhere near the Althrop Estate??

Disappointed not to be able to read what paddy said.

Funny old world. Children being pitchforked into new schools and new countries, nothing new there.

I'm not massively interested but the security must be a total nightmare. Surely they would have been better to stay in the US.

The only person who has really respected and revered Diana's memory is her son, William who hasn't spoken of her for years. Others have just used her life and death to make money and wallow in misery to gain public sympathy, Earl Spencer being the latest to do so. Even for you Paddyann, your post was quite shocking to the point that I almost feel sorry for you. Surely even you can't rejoice in the terrible death of Louis Charles, or Alexi Romanov, never mind their parents and family. Thank goodness Gransnet deleted your cruel comments.

As the bank a/c must be shrinking I think it’s to save on air fares. The Cotswolds are closer to Portugal than Montecito.

OldFrill Thu 20-Aug-26 12:35:16

Info re Harry's visa was released (heavily redacted) but there is still pressure to release further information as the admissions Harry made in his book about drug use would have denied him a visa or prove he lied on the visa application. Trump has said he'll leave him alone for now, but who can trust Trump. I think maybe the RF are more appealing to Harry and Megan (vocally anti Trump) than the American administration right now.

Well I don't suppose the children will be going to the local school but some very expensive prep school , will they be taking them in a Chelsea truck or cycling with them on the back, ( Princess Margaret's son did this) , God you can hear the chattering mums wondering if their little ones will be going to the same school, perhaps Megan will join the WhatsApp class group? 🙄

MarieElla Thu 20-Aug-26 12:53:27

Will she expect the other school mums to curtesy to her hmm

Aveline Thu 20-Aug-26 12:56:14

They'll probably stage some sort of security panic to gain sympathy and the sort of royal protection that they think they need.
Poor William and Catherine. They must be girding their loins to deal with all sorts of attention seeking nonsense from this two.

Jaxjacky Thu 20-Aug-26 12:57:15

Another media feeding frenzy wiping any other news off the metaphorical front pages.

specki4eyes Thu 20-Aug-26 13:09:30

Is this some kind of sick joke? After trashing the family, making false accusations of racism, destroying the peace and contentment of QEII and her dutiful husband in their final years, trying to undermine William, Catherine and Camilla when all they have displayed is devotion to the monarchy! Not to mention the dubious authenticity of two children
It beggars belief.
If this return is sanctioned by the King, he should be ashamed and my admiration for him all through his life is over.
