Interesting.
And the children starting school here.

Truffle43 Thu 20-Aug-26 09:54:24

I say let them be. Families have fall outs. I wouldn’t live a life in the public eye for any amount of money.
Yes the book was not charitable but Harry must of felt he needed to get things off his chest. Okay letting the world know was not a good idea but we all make mistakes.
I think everyone deserves a second chance and non of us know how it must feel to be in his shoes.

Sorry to be rude but who gives fruck? I think it is time they kept themselves to themselves but it won’t happen I suppose.

Same here....for the lot of them, all a waste of space, parasites!

Exactly, Maybee; Spencer is currently married to wife number four, following yet another acrimonious divorce, and I gather his children won't have anything to do with him, but that may of course be malicious gossip. It wouldn't surprise me if M&H are 'renting' a property from Spencer, hence this news of their arrival coming without press knowledge.
As for H making peace with his father my own feeling is that he is more concerned with losing any inheritance and position within the royal family; M will go where the money is.
I am slightly surprised by how much I actively do dislike both of them, from their own actions and words. They have insulted this country repeatedly, for money, and there should be no formal place within it or the royal family for them.

We must all remember the story of the prodigal son who was welcomed home with a fatted calf.
I always felt sorry for the dutiful older son myself.

nanna8 Thu 20-Aug-26 10:04:10

They mentioned their return on our news tonight - pretty unusual really for a comment on them. They also stated they thought they would not be very welcome back in Britain! It seems they are very thick skinned. Speculation that the King is sicker than they are reporting so that is a reason they are returning. Who knows and who really cares though it is something to chat about I suppose.

Best thing would be to ignore them. That's what they least want.

That would be my choice... yet because there's been "news" about it... here I am.
🤷‍♀️

I'm sure we all wish the children well, but it will be tricky for them all as time goes by. How will they relate to George, Charlotte and Louis as they get older? Will they meet up, bump into each other by accident at events or what? I feel so sorry for William & Co because this family will be dancing around the edges of their lives for evermore.

NotSpaghetti Thu 20-Aug-26 10:18:19

True, Truffle43 but surely this is better done via a therapist?

Madgran77 Thu 20-Aug-26 10:21:01

Two very foolish, delusional and now desperate people. Great entertainment!

Dear me!!

merlotgran Thu 20-Aug-26 10:21:35

I wouldn’t mind betting it won’t be long before Meghan appears on British TV in either an acting or presenting role. Not promoting the Sussex brand - that ship has sailed but there will be a job for her somewhere.

Aveline Thu 20-Aug-26 10:32:37

🥱

I'm very surprised that they are returning to live here.
Above all, I hope they can be allowed to have some peace and quiet and not be hounded by the press all the time.
The children, at least, deserve that.

Calendargirl Thu 20-Aug-26 10:41:21

I think with the King’s cancer diagnosis, they realise that he might not make it to anywhere near the age the late Queen was when she died, and when William and Catherine are King and Queen, it will be a bit late for reconciliation and getting back into the RF, as such.

Wonder how Camilla feels about it all?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Aug-26 10:42:40

Yet another vile post ^paddyann54*

Harris27 Thu 20-Aug-26 10:45:13

Not interested now have seen the headlines and hope that as a family like any other they find some sort of reconciliation.

You can guarantee there will be one on every thread. Funny how she believes every word that Harry utters.

Well the opening sentence must apply to her, it's always the same vile, hateful rant!

Perhaps they are consciously uncoupling?
Maybe setting up a rival Court to the Wales's.
Can't see little American kids settling into British Public School system.
I bet they don't last an English winter and fly like the swallows back to the sun.

Sueinkent Thu 20-Aug-26 10:58:17

Grantanow

Part of Burnham's rough sleepers initiative?

This really made me laugh.

NotSpaghetti Thu 20-Aug-26 11:03:37

Boz I'm sure the little American kids will settle at school just fine.
Children change schools/ countries/ continents all the time!

Cressy Thu 20-Aug-26 11:12:19

I think I read that they may only have been enrolled temporarily. Perhaps it’s just to give them some contact with family in the UK and get to know their grandfather who may be more unwell that we have been told. Whatever, I hope they do not court the limelight whilst they are here but the Press will soon sniff out where they are living and what school the children are attending.

Boz Thu 20-Aug-26 11:21:22

I'm looking forward to pics of the little prince and princess from the back; or maybe a pic of their feet in sensible shoes.

Smileless2012 Thu 20-Aug-26 11:26:55

The story of the Prodigal Son is irrelevant JenniRen.

He returned penniless to his father and was prepared to work as a servant. He was full of remorse, accepting full responsibility for his actions and seeking only his father's forgiveness; repentance being the point of the parable.

loopyloo Thu 20-Aug-26 11:28:44

Thinking about it, I think it's a step in the right direction.
Perhaps Meghan will not stay. I wonder if she is thinking she will get a better divorce settlement in the uk and she knows the children will be looked after.
Just a thought.
