Interesting.
And the children starting school here.

Allsorts Thu 20-Aug-26 06:56:55

Unbelievable, are the family going to live under police protection from now on then? They would have happily finished the monarchy, is very weird behaviour, I do wonder if he and Megan are of sound mind. When William becomes King I doubt he will put up with such nonsense.

Wherever they live I hope they can find happiness and peace.

There are two innocent children starting school in a new to them country, wishing them well.

I suppose there won’t be any pictures of them starting school.

Unless it’s the same day as George starts at Eton…..

I wonder if they will live on the Althrop Estate? Grace and favour house?

Love being with Diana’s family, apparently.

Seeing aunts, uncles, cousins.

What a refreshing post.

Seems to me that Meghan will need a personality transplant for it to be successful.

Can’t see Catherine and Meghan burying the hatchet and going off on girlie shopping trips together.

Calendar girl, I'm not a great fan iof Megan! But she has been earning her own living most of her life as an actress.

RosesandLilac Thu 20-Aug-26 07:09:48

Breathtaking hypocrisy.

I wonder if Harry has finally tired of having no real purpose except to play a bit part in Meghan’s soap opera and has given her an ultimatum. Probably she’s had no choice than to go along with it as she won’t want to lose her royal title.
I can help wondering what has changed as far as the security issue though.

Realky Thu 20-Aug-26 07:19:36

In agree. He and Kate are too busy lining their own pockets as the Queen Mother did.
Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother legally avoided paying an estimated £20 million to £28 million in inheritance tax when she passed away in 2002. Her estimated £50 million to £70 million estate was left entirely to her daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, completely tax-free, who then transferred them to various members is her family tax free. This family has used their influence over governments to live a lifestyle which no other royal family in Europe does.

Agreed.

I don't think the kids will be at Green Lane Primary, eating jam sandwiches for lunch and being battered into submission by frontal adverbials.

fancythat Thu 20-Aug-26 07:32:05

I would hope they have apologised to all sorts of people for all sorts of things.
But I doubt they have and they will.
We shall see.

Well said GrannyGravy13.

"Jam sandwiches for lunch" Quite possibly they have a substantial stash of the fruity fare. Talking of which I'm wondering whether those jars will be gracing the shelves of our supermatkets anytime soon.

M0nica Thu 20-Aug-26 07:51:10

Frankly, who cares what they do?

fancythat Thu 20-Aug-26 07:53:00

Sadly, I do.
I dont want the Royal Family any more upset than they already are.

Icandoit Thu 20-Aug-26 08:08:37

This decision has not been made lightly or just recently. I wonder why! Something has obviously happened to make Meghan now decide to put her children in the public eye now which they have strongly maintained not to do in the last 7 years - why change now? No, this has been brewing for a long time, no-one makes a huge decision like this with everything that has happened. I for one, used to like Harry but my thoughts have changed, he has hurt a lot of his family, made decisions he would never have made without the input of Meghan. They will be lonelier here than over there in my opinion.

AGAA4 Thu 20-Aug-26 08:08:51

For the sake of their two children I hope they are happy here.

NotSpaghetti Thu 20-Aug-26 08:09:51

Realky I think you are wrong - the House of Windsor is not the richest royal family in Europe.
I'm pretty sure that the Princely Family of Liechtenstein (House of Liechtenstein) is the wealthiest - followed by the royal families of Luxembourg and Monaco.... however all are a tiny tiny proportion of the House of Saud!

nanna8 Thu 20-Aug-26 08:10:49

They could move in with Uncle Andrew.

They are private citizens by their own choice. Their decisions on where they live, educate their children should be of no more public interest than that of any private citizen, such as you and me.

MarieElla Thu 20-Aug-26 08:13:50

They are the most hypocritical celebrities ever!
Should be interesting watching h8w this pans out for them!
