So Farage stepped down as MP for Clacton in order to force a by election in which he stood to be elected as MP for Clacton again, and he won against a bin.
Both Farage and Clacton deserve each other.

The only vanity is Farage's, not least that he refused to attended the declaration.

That anyone can stand is a democracy process and long may it continue.

He may consider them nobodies but they all won votes.

I think so many on GN threads recently were saying ‘I hope Binface wins’. They weren’t moaning about the cost of this then, just hoping Farage got a bloody nose. Well he didn’t and I’m glad.

And then all but 2 lost their deposits Graphite.

I think he is indeed partly genuinely frightened.

Who wouldnt be, in his position.

If know a younger person who is gearing up to be an MP.

So much Farage hate going on. If voters don’t like him they’ll vote for an alternative candidate. He’s just another politician people - yet so many get their knickers in a twist over him.

But Farage orchestrated this whole thing by stepping down in the first place, nobody forced him to. So this is on him, he mucked about with the people of Clacton whom he knew would vote for him again, I knew this too so there is no disappointment. The fact is he didn’t get a bloody nose but this whole debacle does not reflect well upon him.
Now let’s hope he at least pays scant attention to the constituents who voted him in.

Complete failure by the Tories and Labour over the last 15/16 years (or more) that the people of Clacton have voted for Farage. I wonder, do the voters actually know what they are voting for, what Reform’s policies are, makes no sense if they do, Reform are not going to help them. Depressing.

It would have been a bit difficult for the good people of Clacton to vote Tory or Labour when neither party fielded a candidate.

I don’t think anybody at all expected Binface had any hope of winning FGT2? He got more votes than expected or predicted, and Farage did not get as many as he expected, I suspect most are content with that.

I’m not making this up, I checked on AI for a summary.

I think it’s very amusing that the Farage haters are scrabbling around like rats in a bin looking for any scraps that they can use to discredit his resounding win. He won - just let it go. The people of Clacton have decided!

Sorry maybe, but I am finding it all a bit amusing too now.

Only 28% of the total electorate of Clacton voted for him.

Next time the subject of Labour having won power on 33.7% of the vote comes up, something that Reform have complained repeatedly and bitterly about, remember that.

You are right, Casdon, and probably another reason why he has cancelled the press conference he was going to have today (as well as having to explain why he lied about the police).

Of course it was an embarrassment - that is why he refused to turn up at the count and result.

But people don’t just get over things Primrose. The majority of us don’t get over things that we feel strongly about, rightly or wrongly. Indeed you yourself probs feel strongly about some things yourself that you would not like to be told to just ‘get over’.
So maybe let’s not tell use this stock phrase.

Just doubled checked - 4:8 of Reform MPs have never faced the electorate as Refotm candidates. They were elected as Conservatives and not one had the guts to face their constituents after their defection. Whereas their leader faces his electorate completely unnecessarily - no I don’t get it either
