I do understand your frustration with the current state of the UK, Meandrogog but I'm afraid that a substantial number of the things you complain about are the result of cuts to public services by the tories ever since Thatcher came to power in 1979. Made worse by the 'austerity' implemented by Osborne, tory chancellor from 2010.

I really do not understand how you can expect public services to run effectively if they are kept extremely short of money.

So, police, the NHS, education, justice, social care, council services, all short of money.

Privatisation of water, where the water company's profit went t mainly to shareholders with little investment in infrastructure? Thank the tories.

I had to laugh about the NHS, Farage is on record as wanting to implement the US insurance system. If you're not insured health care costs a fortune...

Small boats? Blossomed under the tories because leaving the EU meant we lost the Dublin agreement where we could return some asylum seekers...

I am highly critical of the current government but I didn't seriously expect them to put everything right overnight and I certainly don't blame them for problems caused by previous governments.

Meandrogrog, I agree with everything you say, but the other people have an agenda, I think to destroy the UK. They certainly have no time for victims. No knives means just that, even for religious reasons. Anyone that comes here to make a home swears allegiance to our flag and rules, if not do not come ho to some other country where they can, Anyone who commits a violent crime should lose their right to enter UK or stay here.

The police put out a statement last night saying 4 officers attended. One has resigned and the other 3 are still serving.

Why are you so intent on minimising the lack of care for Henry Nowak? The actions of those officers, especially the male was appalling, dismissive and cruel. On another post you said Henry wasn’t dragged across the gravel - yes he was. That officer in particular should be prosecuted in my opinion.

We had deals with France until then.
Still recovering after Covid and over a decade of Tory rule.
It will take longer than two years to recover.
Now we have Trump and his erratic policies to navigate.
I am sorry you feel so despondent, but how on earth do you honestly think Farage will be good PM?
He can't even cope with being an ordinary politician.

We have covered the issue of the boats and the EU. It was shown not to have been effective even inside the EU to stop illegal immigration.

If this is the mindset of police attending any scene of crime then some serious sackings and retraining needs to be done immediately.They appeared to have no common sense, or sense of urgency or understanding of needing to know why this young lad was laying on the ground posing no threat to anyone, with breathing difficulties telling them 9 times that he couldn't breathe and he'd been stabbed. Then cruelly handcuffed and told don't think you have been stabbed mate. The murderer was standing upright talking away and asked by the police have you been hurt? Erm wasn't that the very question that poor lad needed to hear in his dying moments. This is just so shocking on so many levels.

Their role on arrival is to assess the situation and preserve evidence and handcuff anyone if they have any reasonable suspicion. They 999 call initiated the reasonable suspicion.

By the end of the body cam video lasting slightly over 2 minutes we can hear the female officer starting to examine Henry and noticed his dilated pupils, as the other was questioning Digwa and ascertained he had no to little superficial injuries. By the ned of the 2 minutes they began to realise Digwa was lying and Henry was injured and it has been reported they then removed the handcuffs.

Noone is saying there aren't lessons to be learned but why not wait until the IPOC reports their investigation findings to see whether anyone should be sacked and what retraining is necessary as you state. Stirring up antagonism against the police serves no one as evidenced in the violent protests against the police and online death threats.

The murder is shocking, Digwa's lying is shocking and the whole thing is tragic.

Nothing could have saved the poor boy. A major vein had been severed.

From the judge's summing up:

The pathologist .......said that no emergency medical treatment would have permitted access to the bleeding vein. In simple terms, he would not have survived, however quickly he received first aid, CPR or expert medical treatment.

How do you feel about uncontrolled immigration? Do you think the UK has control over our borders, which all countries should have.

How do you think the UK is doing outside the EU? Apparently the EU countries are not doing so great, maybe you think we should be shackled again. What would the benefits be?

How do you feel about the Labour government? Do you think we should all be taxed more to fund benefit claimants as that is what this Government supports? Do you think this is a good thing?

How do you feel about the training that public services including the police receive which has led to what this post is about?

How about knife crime and drugs in major cities, how do you think our wonderful London Mayor is doing about these issues?

I, and so many, are in despair about the state of our country.

In the south east we have over building of houses and a water shortage that has left whole areas without any water, yet still the building continues.

Violent protest against the police as we are seeing in Southampton and inciting violence against the police definitely is a big problem and not doing anyone any good- least of all Henry's family. . Ive started another posts if anyone wants to post about this and what needs to happen for it to stop.

Maybe he could have been saved if they had called an ambulance earlier. Exactly what they were doing in all that time we don’t know but the murderer was filming him. Sickening.
