He is a Performer, not a Politician, and his act is getting old.

Begs the question if an MP and party leader feels attending Westminster/HoC why do the job in the first place. But then as Maremia outlines he's a performer not an active politician.

If you take Ronib's posts as being valid, basically unless you are in government, once elected you can take the salary and bugger off to do whatever you want. Which is exactly what Farage does.

I don’t think doing what you want is confined to the opposition. The government has such a huge majority that they are solely responsible for the decisions being pushed through parliament. No contest. The buck stops there.

There’s nothing wrong with being angry about what you see as failings of the government, but stop pretending that an elected MP and party leader does not need to do the role he was elected to do. There is just no plausible defence, he is doing wrong.

There are as everyone knows 650 MPs and 437 actual seats in the House of Commons. Nigel Farage is 97 percent aligned with the Reform Party when he votes. Obviously loads of MPs can’t physically get into the House.

There is seldom 100% attendance of all the MPs, except for events like the King's speech. However most MPs attend as often as they can, and find time to be present at their constituency as well.

As a member of the EU Fisheries Committee, he was present at just one committee meeting out of 42 in 3 years. He has done better at Westminster, but has not attended a single meeting of the Clacton Town Board out of the meetings held in his first two years as an MP. Clacton voters must wonder whether they actually have an MP.

Some information seems to suggest that Angela Rayner has an even lower attendance rate in the House of Commons than dear Nigel. In fact 55 MPs have lower attendance rates than Nigel.

The letter, asked Farage to confirm that none of the sum was “derived from transactions with Russian state-linked energy companies”, and to give assurances that AML Global had complied fully with all sanctions on Russian energy since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022".

If you look into it further ronib, ministers do have a low attendance rate, because they are often away from the House on ministerial business - not slacking off. Look at Rayner’s pre 2024 attendance record to see before she became a minister.
