So, just to put the hypnotist story into a bit of context

Polanski also worked as a hypnotherapist. In 2013, a journalist for The Sun requested a hypnotherapy session from him to increase her breast size and body image self-confidence for an article in the paper. Polanski featured in the published article, in which the journalist claimed that her breast size had increased. Polanski has apologised for his involvement, saying that the idea came from the client, that he did not charge for the session, that the therapy was meant to help with bodily self-image rather than physical enlargement, and that the article did not accurately reflect the situation.

Things really do need context, after attending University he attended Drama school abroad and also studied hypnotism. I just don’t know enough about him (yet) to label him as a “grifter”. I find this assertion quite amusing, given how much of a “grifter” Farage is, I know who’d rather have as PM if I only had those two from which to choose (I hope I do have more choice haha)

We need a lot more Hannah Spencer's her theme was you should work hard and reap the benefits, she did she qualified as a plumber and set to make a living, and deserves respect for that
We have far too many in the UK that don't work hard, the economically inactive numbers are a disgrace, if she can do it so can far more of that group.

Almost as concerned about the Greens winning as I would be had Reform won. Polanski and Farage are poles apart in their vision of a future Britain and I can't say I like either.

I was not surprised that Reform did so badly in Gorton and Denton. They really misjudged the make up of the constituency, which like so much of Manchester is a culturally diverse community with most people just want to live together in peace.

Talk on facebook about something called family voting where groups of people influence other people at the polling station. Don't quite understand it all though.

Reform say it is happening with Muslim voters. That tells me they are expecting to lose and following the Trump playbook.

It was an independent organisation that was there that noted that there was a lot of "family voting" going on!!!!

Yep.....in other words = a man being allowed to accompany his wife (and adult children) to the booth to physically watch them casting their vote!!!!!! One way of making sure they can't cast their own vote their own way - as he is spying on them and regarding himself as that figure we used to have (in the PAST) that regarded himself as a "head of the household".

There will still be that figure from the history books - called "head of the household" in some communities. Hence it's particularly vital that everyone voting does it in the standard way and goes to that voting booth on their own.

I found it distinctly worrying to think there will have been however many men it was forcing their wife etc to vote their way rather than leaving them to vote their own way. A precursor too for them generally not living normally - ie each person deciding everything for themselves and not looking to Mr Self-Important Bully to make their decisions for them.

I've been very active for the Green Party way back when personally - but I would dearly love to kick that candidate/now MP firmly up her little backside one way or another.

Seems to me it’s a policy that could solve some problems but open up a whole set of new ones.

Predictably Labour were decimated and that must hurt, but Reform did well too decimating Tories. So it's a battle between Left and Right, in this case Left won.

The Green's aren't going to have a national landslide as we have seen Reform do in council elections in some areas. At the next GE I see a battle between Left and Right a hung parliament, very unpredictable, I doubt Starmer will stay that long.

It was clearly a protest vote, voters to the left who are angry with Labour, plus the core Green voters who went for them last time. I actually feel very encouraged by the result.

On the family voting issue, the people who are accountable are the polling station staff, because they are responsible for policing to make sure that votes are cast lawfully. Although it won’t have affected the vote by more than a few votes, it’s still important and needs to be addressed.

Yes absolutely it does. It’s outrageous and I hope staff didn’t stand back and stay silent because of fears of being called racist.
It has to be said that as the area has a lot of Muslim voters then Gaza has no doubt affected Labour’s votes as they view the government as giving preference to Israel ( it hasn’t and doesn’t.)

If that was her thinking then a very stupid MP has just been elected.

The Greens now have five MPs in Westminster elected by voters who voted for a Green candidate.

Reform have now have four MPs in Westminster elected by voters who voted for a Reform candidate.

The other four Reform MPs are Tory defectors who are too scared to face the electorate. Now we know why.

There is no standard way of voting . Multiple variations are permitted for registered voters with physical, visual, intellectual disabilities of any kind.

Proxy, and postal voting, are not suitable for some people.

All registered voters with any type of disability, are entitled to vote at the public polling stations and to receive whatever assistance is required. There's a long list of permitted means of assistance and it includes taking a personal assistant into the polling booth with them.

All polling stations are obliged by law to train their staff so that such variations are treated correctly . This ensures that voters entitled to assistance are not deterred from excercising their legal right.

I will always hold Farage responsible for Jo Cox’s murder so I agree with her. He unleashed racial hatred in this country and divided us as a nation.

The so called family voting has been reported on the morning news.

Whether it was one family or 100 it is illegal and therefore should worry those in charge.

It is not illegal in UK for a family member to assist a registered voter who needs companion assistance because of disability.

Much in this thread illustrates how easily Reform infiltrates its ugly misinformation agenda into the gullible minds of uneducated people who swallow it without question.

Trump does this in USA and Farage has followed his playbook .
