Rennee Good's family lawyers have now released the results of an independent autopsy, showing three gunshot wounds. She was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said at the time the agent opened fire after Good tried to ram officers with her vehicle.

The DHS has not yet published the outcome of its investigation. We await details of what legal action Good's family lawyers may take against DHS. This thread has been started as the previous thread comes towards its 1000 post end to discuss the aftermath, impact and repercussions.

Tear gas...that's in answer to the GNs who asked about other weapons.

Or we could see if the water cannons bought by Boris were in fact scrapped.
They could be being used as a water feature somewhere.

They were scrapped because their use is illegal in the UK, but I don't suppose a bit of illegality would bother Farage.

I was going to suggest tasers and pepper spray...

ronib Sun 25-Jan-26 15:57:14

Why does everyone keep referring to Farage? He’s not in power. Starmer is.

Allira Sun 25-Jan-26 16:01:32

Found them!

Maremia Sun 25-Jan-26 16:01:51

Simply because he hope and expects to be.

Maremia Sun 25-Jan-26 16:03:31

They are using tear gas in the USA just now. It is no longer just theoretical.

Simply because he hope and expects to be.

That man-in-the-pub persona would disappear pdq if he was.

Simply because he hope and expects to be.

And, because he aligns closely with the people who are supporting Trump in the US and I firmly believe that he will think the ICE operation is something that he could copy (if not 'quite' so viciously) to get rid of the hated immigrants in the UK. After all, he pours scorn on the current government's attempts to 'control our borders'.

Once he's in power I wouldn't expect anything else.

Farage thinks Trump is amazing, and so it is safe to assume that he thinks Trump's policies and actions are also amazing.
And that's another reason why we are showing interest in the tragic happenings in the USA just now.

ronib Sun 25-Jan-26 16:28:18

Well I hope and expect to be president of the world in 3 years time …. Fat chance!

Alex Pretti was shot by ICE agents for filming them and for standing between them and a woman they had knocked down and were spraying with teargas. He was holding a phone with one hand, filming, and the other hand in the air. They beat him to the ground, one searched for his gun and walked away with it and the four others shot him 11 times while he was absolutely no threat to them. Their story is that he threatened them with the gun, but there is no sign of a gun in the video taken by the woman who made this affidavit.

He was an an ICU nurse whose colleagues thought very highly of him and do not believe that he was attacking the agents. Neither does anyone who was present.

This is a firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there in Minneapolis today recording video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she first arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

Lawyers filed this declaration in federal court following today's shooting. Minneapolis Mayor Frey said the details would be used to bolster their case for ousting ICE from city.

Elegran Sun 25-Jan-26 22:44:29

Correction, it was pepper spray, not teargas.

Elegran Sun 25-Jan-26 22:53:35

Alex Pretti had a gun in the back of his belt, yes, but he had a permit to carry it and Minnesota is an open-carry area. Plus he did not draw it, so he was no threat. It was taken from him and THEN, when he was lying still on his back wth his hands above his head, he was shot several times, after which one of the agents stepped back a bit and shot him five more times.

Filming ICE going about their business is legal too.

Elegran Sun 25-Jan-26 23:00:59

The number of shots by that agent may be wrong - all the shots were within a few seconds.

And they talk about ‘broken Britain’ —parts of America are in bits just now. Makes you sick to the stomach.

Johnny Hubbard, on FB:-

"Minnesota believes in law and order. We believe in peace.

"Let’s get some truth out there about the man shot & killed by ICE. Not law enforcement. ICE & DHS are not law enforcement. Let’s get that straight. Lets repeat- DHS/ICE are not law enforcement- they are border patrollers - untrained in community law enforcement.

He was a local nurse. He was out helping in an intersection getting traffic moving. Minnesota is an open carry state. He had a gun in his back waste [waist?] holder (on video). It was NOT in his hand (verified by video). He was tackled by 6 ICE agents. Beaten (all on video). You can see his hands out in front of his head, still being punched in the face by several agents- 5 other agents on top. A shot or 2 rings out. The man is stretched out on his back, out. Another agent unloads his gun on the man, 10 shots while man is lying on his back stretched out & probably already unconscious.

^Dan Bovino just had a press conference. Claiming the man was running at agents, with intent to massacre them.. WTF?!?!
All clear lies. Total video proven lies. So that is now officially, before any investigation or anything, DHS’s story.. just minutes ago DHS announced THEY will become the ones investigating. Not FBI, not local or state police. DHS, who has already given their side not an hour after the murder.. Bovino disparaging & slandering the man before even knowing who he was or what he was even doing. A local nurse with only a few parking tickets on his record.

This is deeply shameful.. deep
And now, of course, Trump is truth socially wild lies & conspiracy.. about the man, the local police, local & state officials."

Democrats plan to block the next stage of funding, because of this latest atrocity.
Facebook reports, not yet authenticated, claim that ICE is running out of funds.

Elegran Mon 26-Jan-26 09:00:40

What are the odds that more funds for ICE will be found, probably by cutting something more essential for the general population?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Jan-26 09:15:16

Some democrats voted with republicans over funding ICE.

Maremia Mon 26-Jan-26 09:25:03

They did, and this is the next vote, maybe in a different chamber.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Jan-26 09:31:50

The killers and those committing violence against US citizens are masked, are being protected because they are apparently anonymous.

This should never be allowed or become normalised.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 26-Jan-26 10:04:36

I think that when these killings get taken to court and if found unlawful, then the blame must lie entirely with Trump. Just as other state leaders have been found guilty of heinous crimes against the citizens then so should he.

The ICE agents are simply his arms reaching into the state.

imaround Mon 26-Jan-26 10:18:37

House of Representatives passed the funding bill with 7(9?) Democrats joining Republicans in voting to increase ICE funding. (They will be unemployed come November, Mark my words).

Now it goes to the Senate, who has vowed to shut it down. It will partially shut down the Government again.

FYI. If the Senate passed it. Then Trump would sign it or veto it. If he vetos it, Congress can override the veto with 2/3 of its members voting yea. A good bipartisan bill can have support called a veto proof majority.

It is really, really hard to get 2/3 of Congress to agree on anything these days.

From the ACLU. It described the torture that the migrants are allegedly suffering at Ft Bliss. 3 migrants have died there in recent months.

Trigger warning. This is depraved.

A judge ruled that ICE agents just have Judicial Warrants to enter peoples homes, in keeping with the 4th Amendment.

Remember ICE has administrative warrants that have not been signed by a judge. DHS doesn't get to change policy based on an Unconstitutional interpretation of the Constitution.
