You are correct babs. Our constitution deliberately spells out the separation of church and state. The Evangelicals do not agree and are doing their best to force their views on everyone living on the US. Which is literally the reason why the Constitution was written the way it was, to stop this very thing from happening.

They believe in white supremacy, that being any part of the LGBTQ alphabet is a choice, women are to be used as child bearers only and should be considered property.

My, my, my, so here are so called Christians spouting far right religious extremism as spouted similarly by Islamic extremists, also far right on the political spectrum, and saying the same things about the role of women.
I would laugh if it wasn’t so tragic.

This is a valid link and story and I stand behind my post on this. The story originated at the AP and reported through PBS, as well as others. This is not from some gossip rag.

In the Vanity Fair case, the journalist believes that both the bullet left, described earlier in the story, and the cats head, were left by Epstein. I believe him. From the article:

"In 2006, federal authorities compiled accusations against Epstein in Florida. Connolly says he headed south to see if there was a story there for Vanity Fair.

As Connolly pursued interviews with women who had worked for Epstein, he says, Carter called him once more. The editor had found another intrusion, this time in the front yard of his Connecticut home: the severed head of a dead cat.

"It was done to intimidate," Connolly tells NPR. "No question about it." (Others who worked for Vanity Fair at the time said the cat's head was the talk of the office.)"

In the ABC case, Alan Dershowitz later admitted he interfered in the release of the Guiffre interview so that she didn't receive credibility.

In the New York Time case. It was later confirmed through tax records that the $30,000 donation to the journalists charity from Epstein was, at best, unethical. The journalist was never allowed to cover Epstein professionally again.

I'm suprised if anyone has not yet realised that Trump et al use behaviour that is straight from gang culture.

Look how often he has been paid in straight cash or by being given something he wants, in order to stop him doing something worse. It's a protection racket mindset!

Carter denies the incident had anything to do with Epstein. I believe him. But now I want to know why Connelly said it in the first place. It is obvious that Epstein was using other methods to stop information from getting out. So why make up a story?

Oh - these connections run deep and over a very long period.

Oreo of course one doesn't believe the wilder rumours with no real evidence.

But using that argument to discredit well documented long term connections isn't really effective.

Interesting observation Chocogran, has a bean of truth in it I think. I have read that a propensity to religiosity is genetic so we did our gene pool a massive favour there!! They certainly make for a population that can be played like a violin.

I think the Epstein/Netanyahu/Mossad links are likely true and mob tactics are one tactic secret services without proper oversight across the world freely use.

When you have a politically appointed judiciary, most particularly the Supreme Court, which has the final say on legal decisions, and control of the forces of control and intimidation, i.e law enforcement agencies and the armed forces, then you can disregard the law with utter impunity.

As people can see, this causes big problems for the country but the consensus that keeps a country observant of the ‘rule of law’ is fragile and easily broken by a populist leader who has no regard for it.

There is also the point that Trump is president and different rules apply, like the bizarre ability to pardon himself and others, which I find very peculiar.

I think that is really important. Nobody should be above the law.

And nothing should be above proper scrutiny. When there is clear factual evidence that something has been misrepresented, especially when it is pertaining to the death of someone like Epstein, it should be properly investigated not dismissed as a conspiracy theory. If indeed there has been a cover up, whether it's negligence by the prison guards or something else it cannot be disregarded.

One of my relatives was transported to Sydney😮😮. He had 6 children - unemployed and trapped rabbits. So off he went. So cruel.

He never saw his wife again - couldn’t afford the fare back once his sentence was completed.

The US would like to return the religious bigots to the UK. It doesn't fit and the return policy said we had 250 years to return.

In order to soften the blow of the return, we are happy to take in criminals headed to Australia. Of the two, the criminals seem way more fun right now.

Bribery and "putting the frighteners on" is the usual method isn't it. Then there's getting lower-level people to pile on "ridicule" (as we can see).

That's the thing - as far as I can see - all the way "up" through Society - ie a "bad 'un" surrounds themselves with a crowd of sycophants (the "Oh they can't be that bad - there seems to be a group of people who think they're okay or even better than okay"). Some careful bribing of the right people (who tell themselves they've been handed a decent level job for instance because they are good enough to do it - even though everyone else can see they arent). Many people are after some sort of "prizes" in life and I expect a lot of how these characters operate is they can find ways to give these "prizes" to their little pets (ie useful people).

People who are good enough and who question often aren't wanted - because of their "questioning".

That's before we go into people who see these characters clearly for what they are - but are scared of challenging them.

Not forgetting how much hypocrisy goes on of course.

I've just remembered an evangelical Christian lodger of mine way back that was visited by the pastor of the church she'd started off at (ie my evangelical friends own church she'd taken her along to) and read the Riot Act about dating someone else's boyfriend. After said pastor had "read the Riot Act" it all came out that he was a fine one to talk - and he was married to the woman he was betraying.....

Principles are very often what one talks about - but doesnt actually have.....

He surrounds himself with sycophants and fires anyone who disagrees. His MAGA minions terrorize anyone who goes against him. Death threat for judges, media, and elected officials and been murdered. It is just now getting to the point where his endorsement is the kiss of death to careers. Not even random citizens are safe. His ICE goons are terrorizing protestors and injuring citizens and migrants alike.

Its day will come. Sadly, I think it will be because he does of natural causes and not due to accountability. I wonder if Congress can symbolically impeach and remove him post death?
