Very low turn out and hopefully when there's a general election voters will think more carefully about where they place their cross.
Imo one good thing has come out of this and that's that it has made the other parties particularly the govt sit up and take notice of what voters want especially regarding social care for the more vulnerable and immigration.

Well Maremia councils now run by Reform (and the two Mayors) have the opportunity to put more resources social services and police to combat child sexual abuse of all kinds - and hit the resourcing realities. I genuinely think all councils want to do this, btw, the problem is that pressures of different social funding.

Well the India deal was necessary because Brexit meant that we were losing our biggest and closest trading partners. So what are we supposed to do? We have to trade with someone. Trade with the EU and the government are accused of ignoring the referendum. If you agree with Brexit you have to agree with the trade deals that we were told Brexit would enable us to do. No deal is going to come without clauses. And it’s only the end result of a trade deal that was initiated by the Conservatives. So who do you think we should be trading with? Obama told us that a trade deal with America wasn’t a given, and it certainly isn’t now that Trump is back in power.

I think you’ll find it applies to Indians who are only on secondment from Indian companies to Britain and only applies for 3 years. It does not apply to Indians just apply for jobs in Britain. They will not be able to get benefits. We already have these arrangements in place with other countries. British people working abroad for British companies have reciprocal arrangements.

“Migrants who are posted to the UK from a country outside of the EEA and Switzerland and with which the UK does not have a social security agreement, may not have to pay UK NIC for up to 52 weeks, provided they meet certain conditions. From 1 January 2021, these rules also apply to Liechtenstein. Most people who say they deserve to be here are hypocrits as they don't want them in their own spare room, street or town. But will stand in protests favouring them not being deported. And won't like paying extra income tax to keep them housed in hotels which is bound to happen soon. They also have priority hospital, doctor and dental treatment infront of UK citizens as they are classed as vulnerable.

According to Statista the projected UK budget for 2025/26 is £1,335 billion.

The figure for the maintenance of irregular migrants is hard to find but if it is in the region of £5billion pa and the money spent all enters the UK economy how do you work out that this relatively small sum is 'draining the economy'?

Speaking for myself (which is all any of us can really do) I live in a town alongside many immigrants. They are welcomed in my street and my town. Indeed, their culture is celebrated and we now have two new Asian / Caribbean supermarkets. Brilliant! No hypocrisy here

They utterly ignored the benefits of the trade deal - its massive for our country
