I doubt it is fake news, enemies are best dead, not hovering in the wings somewhere. That is why Putin has made several attempts to kill the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, before finally locking up and keeping him there with a succession of show trials on trumped up charges.

Prigozhin, was a far greater danger to Putin than Navalny because Prigozhin was a thuggish brute who would stop at nothing, where Navalny is a man of principle.

It's just as likely that Prigozhin has 'arranged' his own death/disappearance as it is he's been murdered.

No one is surprised, makes a change from a window or balcony.
Shame about the crew though.

Better than being poisoned in a hotel I suppose - quicker anyway.

I have just heard on the news of Prigozhin's path to power. Criminal -hot dog salesman- restaurant owner- leader of Wagner group.
What an extraordinary career progression.

Prigozhin’s usefulness had expired, he was useful creating mayhem supporting Russias allies in Africa, where he was deniable, close to home he became a liability.

I doubt he staged his own death, he’s too well known and would always be under threat, Putin has a good record of terminating his enemies and doesn’t care much where he does it.

I do wonder whether it was just his name on the passenger list though, and he’s hidden elsewhere. He’d obviously have known that Putin would be arranging to have him
eliminated - and to hell with any innocent parties on that plane, like the poor crew.

I can't think what possible reason he could have had for flying to Moscow. He must surely know/have known that Putin would be out to get him...
