I absolutely would make a proclamation that banana cake must be eaten every Sunday. And Prosseco must be drunk with it.

Do you have a cook Callistemon? Well me thinks you must be a covert member of the aristocracy too. If I’m to invite the Queen and the Bidens I think I’ll need your services too, and your cooks.

Harry can't have Steve McQueen's part, he was more the strong silent type wasn't he. Not sure which character would suit Harry but definitely not Steve McQueen. He can't have James Garner's part either, I've got a soft spot for James and if Harry read about his childhood I think he'd view his own a bit differently.

Harry and Meghan, Escaping The Palace

Obviously an updated version of Colditz.

Harry in the Steve McQueen role?

Meghan, hmm, not sure, probably writing herself a starring role as we speak.

Calendargirl ?

The Duchess of Cambridge's education, qualifications and experience show she is intelligent; she is mother to three young children, and she also has extremely good manners, all admirable qualities for meeting and talking to many different people.
As for programmes about the Royal Family not featuring in the list of the top twenty documentaries it suggests that the programmes are not of good quality, not the subject matter.

Anniebach Sat 12-Jun-21 19:02:05

eazybee I agree, but it seems she can’t take an interest in education, thinking of politicians and their education !

Alegrias1 Sat 12-Jun-21 19:08:23

Was Steve McQueen in Colditz? (The film, not the castle....)

I think the film you're thinking of has a much more appropriate title for Harry and Meghan.

theworriedwell Sat 12-Jun-21 19:09:41

No I don't think he was in Colditz, it was The Great Escape.

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jun-21 19:50:26

No I don't think he was in Colditz, it was The Great Escape.

You’re right, I got muddled with films!

The one I was thinking of was The Great Escape, not Colditz.

Neither had a suitable role for Meghan, hence having to write her own script.

Callistemon Sat 12-Jun-21 20:05:54

The Great Royal Escape featuring previously undiscovered underground tunnels from Windsor Castle to Heathrow Airport.

lemsip Sat 12-Jun-21 20:26:44

Catherine duchess of Cambridge education as follows;; Kate Middleton
A* student Kate bagged an A in Maths, an A in Art and a B in English, before graduating from St Andrews University with a 2:1 in History of Art.

so quite clever you see.

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jun-21 20:31:30

Callistemon

The Great Royal Escape featuring previously undiscovered underground tunnels from Windsor Castle to Heathrow Airport.

From where a private jet is waiting to whisk them away to a Land Of Opportunity.

Callistemon Sat 12-Jun-21 20:34:27

Getting back to the OP, I bet she's a lovely little baby.
I hope she's doing well.

Anniebach Sat 12-Jun-21 21:33:35

Surely Kate with her education is capable of having an interest
in education. Meg has a degree in theatre and is going to save the world as well as homeless chickens.

trisher Sat 12-Jun-21 22:55:40

The D of Cambridge may be lovely, intelligent, clever and interested in education. Not enough of course to send her own children to a state school which would certainly have been one way of getting more money to improve children's education.

Meghan Markle has a theatre degree, worked in the entertainment industry, earned her own money and was doing charity work for World Vision way before she met Harry.

Lucca Sat 12-Jun-21 23:39:38

Indeed but it will be looked down upon because it’s American but also just because it’s Meghan

Why do there have to be such extremes ? Kate ..marvellous/Meghan..terrible.
Ok so Hand M have done some odd things recently, made some mistakes etc but some of the comments have nothing to do with that

lemsip Sun 13-Jun-21 00:29:02

from the oprah 'show' meghan showed her true nature and it wasn't very nice! that's the bottom line.

Rosie51 Sun 13-Jun-21 00:54:30

Can people, and an especial wave to Alegrias1 ( who I understood to be particular about correct names), trisher and Lucca please refer to the Duchess of Cambridge as Catherine as is her given name. None of you misspell or misname Meghan. And trisher your bias is very evident..... (not only your blatant snobbery towards Catherine's parents) will you equally condemn Meghan and Harry when Archie and Lillibet go to private USA educational facilities, rather than public education? Somehow, I think not.

Lucca Sun 13-Jun-21 01:51:48

Really ? The duchess of Cambridge is regularly referred to as Kate, on here and in the press. Don’t be ridiculous.

FannyCornforth Sun 13-Jun-21 06:19:39

Rosie you misspelt Lilibet smile

Calendargirl Sun 13-Jun-21 07:23:56

‘Philip’ (Duke of Edinburgh) is often misspelt on here, with two l’s.

Yes, The Duchess of Cambridge is always being referred to as ‘Kate Middleton’, but you never hear William address her as anything but Catherine.

I suppose Sarah, Duchess of York, will always be Fergie though.

FannyCornforth Sun 13-Jun-21 07:31:48

I always think that the use of shortened names and nicknames such as the RF's come about because of the more tabloidy newspapers.

They always shorten names because they fit in headlines better.
Hence MrsT etc. Catherine Zeta Jones is always referred to as Zeta.
Wills and Kate is much more headline friendly than William and Catherine. It's also more 'chummy'.

There are loads more examples which I can't think of at the moment!

Anniebach Sun 13-Jun-21 07:52:49

Lucca Haz and Meg made some mistakes recently ? you can
dismiss the Oprah interview as a mistake ? .

trisher. you dismissed Kate as a 50’s housewife . Have mocked her parents.

Yes Meg was in the entertainment industry, a girlie in a tv show, married a producer, dumped him , went to Canada and
Got a part in a tv soap, moved in with a celebrity chef, dumped
him when she met Haz.

Alegrias1 Sun 13-Jun-21 08:01:09

A girlie.

I think I'll stay off GN today. Might get myself banned otherwise.

Lucca Sun 13-Jun-21 08:02:09

Annie that’s fine, whatever you say.

Lucca Sun 13-Jun-21 08:05:41

Whatever people think of “Suits”. It was highly successful and Meghan Markle had an important role in it.
I presume we would dismiss every single actor who played a female role in a long running series as a “girlie” would we ?
