In reply to the name callers I am pleased the child is happy but I do not want to die; I do not want others to die either. That does not seem unreasonable to me.
I am aware there are upticks in numbers in some countries and a second closing of schools. I am also aware that my GC's schools in Australia are back very much to normal and have seen no rise but then this is a country that went into lockdown some 10 days before ours with very low rates of infection and only ever had 12 CV related deaths.
I am also aware that my mother died in her care home in mid February. CV was not on her death certificate but one other resident had died a few days before her with a similar illness. The home then went into lockdown a full five weeks before the government locked down the country. Four more residents died between mum's death and her funeral. We had still not locked down at that point.
I know that knowing would not make any difference and I would rather believe it was her time to go but this does not, for some inexplicable reason, stop me being sadder than I would be if I didn't have this at the back of my mind. Like many, I feel unable to trust this government not to say whatever suits them and believe they would try to blame anyone but themselves - we have watched them do it. We have seen the "care" they take where the elderly are concerned so why would we be surprised if we find they have the same levels of "care" when it comes to our children?
I will blame them for every unnecessary death - and we know there have already been many. If me saying it like it is makes people stop and ask the questions they should be asking the odd bit of name calling from the odd granny is probably worth it.
Just because I don't agree with your point of view Shelmiss and, as always and not unexpectedly Lemongrove, does not make me a nasty person it just makes me someone who, for good reason, holds a different point of view.
